Saturday night – Grandma Janet

Our dear friend and neighbor of 32 years Janet Quinn. passed away peacefully this morning at 8AM surrounded by her family. Janet was better known to us and all our neighbors as Grandma Quinn..
.Se was sweet, generous, and very funny.. She knew everything that was going on in town and told great stories. All three of our boys spent many happy hours in her house playing with her and the other kids who hung out there..  Her door was always open ..

here’s a picture I saw today in her house that must have been taken in the past couple of months. She’s playing with her new great grand baby Samson..  who’s Mom Sam used to babysit all of our kids.

she really loved her friends and family..  Yesterday Diane and I went to the Hospital to say goodbye and the room was full of her kids and others from the neighborhood. We all really loved her. She passed peacefully this morning as soon as her husband Patt came in to the room. she and Pat had been married for almost 60 years.. and had lived in the house next to ours for 54 of them,

there was a steady stream of family and friends coming in to laugh and cry and tell stories about Janet.. and there are many stories.. I told a story about when Janet taught school in our house. I’d heard from 2 different people that  she’d sometimes lock roudy students in the bathroom… a story which she denied.. .. but others swear too… funny !

  1. John,
Thank you for the wonderful words and thoughts about Mom. I know she loved you and your family as if you were her own. Thank you for all your family has done to help my parents over the years (gardening, etc.) and mostly thank you for loving her and Dad.

    Linda Quinn
