I d take an hour out of the middle of my day to work with Gabe on a physics project. His job today was to get a slow motion capture of a lacrosse player shooting on the goal. I put out a request to my geek posse to find a high sped camera and i found quite a few in the area.. None as cool as the <a href=\"http:\/\/edgertronic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">edgertronic<\/a> high speed camera that my friend Jeff at UVM\u00a0 has. The edgertronic was designed by an MIT guy who. like me, had taken a class with &#8216;Doc&#8217; Edgerton.. inventor of the strobe and of high speed photography.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We only bly had a few minutes to shoot.because the fields were being used for practice.. and both gabe and i had things we needed to do.. . I meet gabe and his friends at 3:15 and we set up the camera.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_9406.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_9410.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_9408.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_9413.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">it took us a while to get the hang of the thing, but we finally got the shot we were after.. Here it is.. a sht on the goal at 1000 frames per second.
