{"id":1230,"date":"2009-03-16T02:17:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-16T06:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/03\/16\/ides-of-march\/"},"modified":"2009-03-16T02:17:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-16T06:17:00","slug":"ides-of-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/03\/16\/ides-of-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Ides of March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div id=\"pBlogBody_476979584\" class=\"blogContent\">\n<br \/>Hey John&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I wonder is you know it is the Ides of March?\u00a0 The day marked by Julius Caesar&#8217;s death&#8230;made famous by the big Shakespeare guy.\u00a0 Or the day in the Roman calendar dedicated to Mars.\u00a0 I also think it may be Rafe&#8217;s birthday&#8230;and close to Pat R.&#8217;s birthday (he will be 21!).\u00a0 I actually think Pat&#8217;s may be tomorrow.\u00a0 Happy birthday to you two. \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The morning was spent at home doing the normal nondescript yet necessary stuff.\u00a0 Mundane may be a better word yet I don&#8217;t view those activities as drudgery as mundane feels to me at times.\u00a0 I need a better word.\u00a0 I spent the morning reshaping and cultivating our living space.\u00a0 That sounds more positive.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>So, I made some bread for Martha to thank her for Friday.\u00a0 However the upstairs computer is doing a major repair scan right now so I may be making a few more loaves unless it cleans itself up.\u00a0 I did the water softener, vacuum, and got your snow tires out of the basement.\u00a0 Yucky jobs.\u00a0 I cleaned up the pictures on my camera.\u00a0 Okay I have had that camera almost a year and I now have decided to look at the pictures I have taken.\u00a0 I am still trying to wrap my arms around this digital picture thing.\u00a0 I think if I get some made up I will feel better.\u00a0 I like the tactile aspect.<\/p>\n<p>Last night Gabe &#038; Trevor were too full to eat the focaccia I made so I turned it into an apple cinnamon breakfast focaccia.\u00a0 I sprinkled it with raspberries and chocolate chips.\u00a0 It had a brown sugar and butter glaze.\u00a0 You would have liked it.<\/p>\n<p>The boys headed to the mountain at about noon and I delivered bread to Martha &#038; Joe.\u00a0 Joe was the last to see you leave Vermont and he had a sense that you had a hard time walking away&#8230;almost like he could have pulled you back.\u00a0 I like that he was sensitive to that.\u00a0 That must be a good attribute for a TSA guy. <\/p>\n<p>I then went to Jen L.&#8217;s house to take a walk and play pool.\u00a0 It was another warm sunny day.\u00a0 We are getting spoiled and hopefully this will help dry out some of our dirt roads.\u00a0 She taught me 9 ball.\u00a0 I won at 8 ball and she beat me at 9 ball&#8230;but who&#8217;s counting.\u00a0 I just love their house.\u00a0 It is so inviting to go there.\u00a0 I saw Avery as I left.<\/p>\n<p>I got Trevor, Kristin and Gabe from the mountain,\u00a0 Gabe and Trevor went out to spray paint project x for pond skimming and Kristin joined Maureen &#038; I for a dog walk.\u00a0 Satori was romping as we started on the trail and Kristin had to take her back because she was limping so bad.\u00a0 Once home though she was her normal bouncy self.\u00a0 We continued on and had a good time.\u00a0 Ruby and Chai enjoyed the quieter time.\u00a0 As I was hooking Chai up I was marveling that she didn&#8217;t even skip a beat not having Satori with us.\u00a0 She didn&#8217;t see Kristin go back with Satori.\u00a0 For all she knew Satori just disappeared.\u00a0 I know Satori would have been looking for Chai.\u00a0 Chai was probably happy to have just me.<\/p>\n<p>Hey&#8230;I use to think that putting pictures into the blog would turned off my spell checker but I&#8217;m wrong.\u00a0 The first few paragraphs the spell checker worked and now it is off and I have not put in any pictures.\u00a0 I have no clue why it turns off.\u00a0 Hmmm.<\/p>\n<p>A bit of sad news.\u00a0 It appears that Trevor and his family will be going back to Texas at the end of the month.\u00a0 I&#8230;he&#8230;we are sad.\u00a0 I understand that they must do this however I am sad for Gabe to lose Trevor.\u00a0 They are such good friends and have such a bond.\u00a0 Gabe has seen Sam leave&#8230;Ian and now Trevor.\u00a0 These are very important people in Gabe&#8217;s life.\u00a0 I know Gabe will manage and grow in some aspect.\u00a0 This will form who Gabe will be.\u00a0 Everything that happens to us causes some evolution and growth.\u00a0 Yes yes..I understand all that.\u00a0 I just feel that Gabe has had more than his share.\u00a0 Then again&#8230;who am I to say how much his share ought to be.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not like we get a certain allotment.
