Today was a quiet day..\u00a0 in keeping with Yom Kippur. Today Jews all over the world fast from sundown to sundown, refrain fro work and reflect on the last year. Many go to shul<\/em> but i’ve not done that in several years. I think i’m getting less tied to formal religion even as I become more spiritual.. maybe it’s because I’m becoming more spiritual.<\/p>\n

My plan for the day was to spend as much of it as possible outside in nature up until the rain would start. I did manage to get a great run in with the girls up honey hollow.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I used the steep uphill run to reflect on the past year.. .<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I used my own rubric.. not the formal confessional ‘al het’<\/a>\u00a0 that is used in the service.\u00a0\u00a0 (wow .. that link is worth a look . .. it’s pretty old school. towards the bottom it goes into forms of capital punishment (‘stoning’) \u00a0 for certain sins !)<\/p>\n

I do want to say that if I’ve wronged anyone reading this in the past year.. I’m truly sorry for that..\u00a0 I hope I knew what i di… and made amends.. if not.. please let me know.\u00a0\u00a0 gotta settle the books.<\/p>\n

i even took a little not-so-ritual jump in the stream to clean of spiritually and physically after my run.. chilly !!!<\/p>\n

I got to give Gabe and two of his friends a ride into town midday.. on the way.. I saw this license plate.. ‘my2boys’.. we had ‘my3boys’ on ours. I still have the plates around<\/p>\n

That fit my mode.. all day long I was thinking of Sam and my dad..\u00a0 i mean, i always think of htem.. but today they both felt close.<\/p>\n

maybe it was the holiday ?.. or the grey weather.. dunno..<\/p>\n

it felt good feeling sad in a funny way.<\/p>\n
