Today was out third Makerfaire here in the green mountain state and it was amazing. After yesterday’s rain, folks poured in to our second day at beautiful Shelburne Farms.<\/p>\n

i took advantage of the drive west to stop at my friends Nina and Micah’s for breakfast\u00a0 . They just moved to hunntington . They found the most amazing house !<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then it was on to Makerfaire.. I saw\u00a0 a ton of new stuff there. even though\u00a0 I only had an hour or so to look around..\u00a0\u00a0 Every nerd, geerk, maker and techy artist I knew was there so it was an excellent chance to schmooz.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

My oly responsibility for today was to help judge the champbot competition.\u00a0\u00a0 Our group put out a high stakes challenge to create a creature that looked like champ.. , navigated slalom course through the water. They could then try several optional\u00a0 tasks including dropping an object in a target, lighting ssoemthign on fire\u00a0 or submerging. I have to say it was a very tough challenge… i’m not sure I would have been up to it.<\/p>\n

in the end we had 7 entrants, 2 of which completed the course.. and most others with valiant attempts. .. it was great to watch.. we also\u00a0 learned plenty about making next years challenge a bit more accessible.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

We even had soem contestants who swam along to help their champs !.. now that’s a real champ !!!\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

i was very impressed with the creativity and spirit of all the teams.. it was really amazing to see what they were able to do !\u00a0 thanks to all who participates !<\/p>\n

\n

one funny thing that happened is that my freind Mike at Rutland Technical center evidently gave his students\u00a0 extra credit for tracking me down to get a signature and a selfie. All day i was meeting cool kids from Rutland.. Here’s a couple of them<\/p>\n

This guy I knwo from VASe showed up with a crazy rocket powered bike ..<\/p>\n

ryan and dash (dash.. just how cool is that ?!?!?!)\"\" there.. .. .. didn’t get to talk to them all..<\/p>\n

\n

the event today inspired me.. so many fun and inventive people<\/p>\n

such a beautiful part of the world<\/p>\n

. i’m so grateful for where we live..<\/p>\n
