Low batteries kept me from doing what I had planned wrt. summing up 2014.. As it turns out.. it was a welcome reprieve from having to put words around how i felt around last year..I had to do some more thinking on it today&#8230; and I&#8217;m still searching for how to best sum it up..\u00a0\u00a0 If I had to sum it up simply, 2014 was as a year of transitions. The thing that looms largest in my mind is the death of both of our fathers.. First Diane&#8217;s dad Gabe died in January .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/gabe.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then my dad, Hugh died in May<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/hugh.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Both of these guys were good friends and advisers to me.. both were gentle and kind spirits.. and both exited the world peacefully.\u00a0\u00a0 we miss them very much<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I particularly miss my Dad when I need advice.. he was a great inspiration to me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We also had some very good transitions.. Gabe graduated from High School in June .. and\u00a0 Started at the University of Vermont in August.. He&#8217;s enjoying it and doing well..\u00a0 .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Max continues to sharpen his making skills in Brooklyn.He moved off the boat.. and\u00a0 had some great travel experiences this year<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0Diane is in many ways our constant &#8230; she is the calm center of all of our chaos&#8230; helping the rest of us think clearly and organize to face the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My work continues to be an always changing mix of interesting and challenging stuff.. .. it too, is in transition as my rotational assignment in corporate\u00a0 comes near its end..\u00a0\u00a0 I am proud of what i got done this year.. and really enjoyed meeting so many new folks around the worl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I don&#8217;t know what 2015 will bring.. but I&#8217;m calm and optimistic.. \/ can&#8217;t ask for more than that !<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Let make it a a good year for all of us&#8230;!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">happy new year everyone !<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">nite all. nite sam<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">-me<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I apologize for being so brief last night.
