I woke at 9 .. well rested and restless at the same time. Diane was off working at a show with deb.. there was something I had to do today.. O oh yeah…<\/p>\n

PI DAY !!!! \u00a0. today was 3\/14\/15 .. the first 5 digits of Pi.. and that only happens once a centruy. I looked at the clock and saw it was 9:08.. I had to find some Pi !> I got half dressed and jumped in the car and sped into richmond.. My only hope was the ‘new’ bakery ‘Sweet Simones’ .. i’d never set foot in there.. but i hoped to heck they had Pi(e).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

the ladies there were so nice.. they had forgotten it was pi day too.. but quickly adjusted their aprons with masking tape to convert their two ‘S’ loo into the letter Pi..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

and Pi’s.. they had !>. lemon cream, apple and coconut.. I grabbed a coconut<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

we then counted down to 9:26 \u00a0 \u00a0nthe next 3 digits.. taking us to<\/p>\n

\n

3.141592653….<\/p>\n

Yum !<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

With that behind me.. the day was already made. I went home and spend a box from spark fun to find my bran new Raspberry Pi II ! ..<\/p>\n

Coincidence… nah!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

i happily puttered through the day.. a radio controlled blinking headband and blinking goggles.. played with the dogs and took \u00a0them for a run up the Catamount trail \u00a0run in the rain.. the first rain I might add \u00a0of the year..<\/p>\n

Diane got home around 6.. later on. we headed to our friends Jeff and Biz.. for a really nice, really geeky Pi day finale.. Savory Pi’s at 7:30.. sweet pis at 9:26:53 of course !<\/p>\n

\n

It wasn’t hard to find the house.. jeff had made his own Pi Projector !<\/p>\n

he was looking dapper in his Pi Tie<\/p>\n

he\u00a0\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

he gave us his pi tour .. showing us all the raspberry Pi’s running his house<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Biz and her sister in law were wearing whoopie pi shirts<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

KC had on som pi-ware too<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

they’d made quite a spread.. and everything.. plates, napkins, tablecloths, glasses even the food was festooned with pis. (not often you get to say ‘festooned’ !)<\/p>\n

\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

One guys son even sent a picture of his Pi tatooe<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

then out came the Pi’s<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"‘<\/p>\n

\n

Then finally the big moment came close.. We counted it down just like new years.. .. at the mark.. we all dove in..<\/p>\n

What a great and kgeeky way to celebrate one of the truly transcendental holidays of the century. Hope you all had a good Pi day too !<\/p>\n
