It was sad, nice and peaceful. It was in St. Mary&#8217;s&#8230; a big old church around the corner from the house were Armond lived most of his life.. as did his mom and dad.. and his grandparents.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3493.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A nice group of people had gathered to pay their respects.. There were some good pictures of Armond..<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3499.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3503.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3502.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He used to be the chief of the local fire brigade.. so they had his helmet there..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3504.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There used to be two St Mary&#8217;s.. an Italian one and an Irish one.. Then they tore down the Italian one and combined them.. \u00a0It was a cool old building Lots of nice stain glass, an organ, incense.. the works.. it had a family feel to it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3505.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3506.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3507.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3512.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After the service, we all lined up to drive to the cemetery. I ended up being a pall bearer.. which I was honored to be.. I really liked Armond and welcomed the chance to say goodbye that one last time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3516.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\\<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We got to the cemetery mausoleum. Same place that Dianes Dad, Aunts, and grandparents are buried. There was an army honor guard gather ether to honor Armonds service in the army.. Some of the game guys that had been at Gabe&#8217;s funeral.. They fired a three shot volley.. then gave the spent shells to Armonds daughter Cathy.. just like they gave them to us for Gabe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The service was short and sweet .. we said good bye and shivered in the 20 degree air.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3523.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here&#8217;s where Gabe is buried, 2nd from the top on the left.. still waiting for lettering..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3527.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And here are diagnose grandparents<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3531.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and here is Armond and hi first wife&#8217; Jeannes.. yet to be moutnted.\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3534.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">on the way back to the church, DIanes brother steve showed us some of the other family graves. .. Here&#8217;s Armond&#8217;s Mothere.. and Diane&#8217;s grandfather&#8217;s first wife Theresa&#8217;s grave.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3541.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">here&#8217;s almond and babe&#8217;s infant baby brother stefano\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3542.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and a neigbor infant who&#8217;s buried nearby because the neighbors couldn&#8217;t afford their own plot..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I can&#8217;t imagine the times when such loss was so common..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3544.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We also found Diane&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0Great-great Granparents Achillo and Maryrose right next store..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3545.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3546.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was nice to have that sense of place.. We all then found our way back to the S Marys rec center for a nice lunch..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3558.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it was good hanging out with the family for another hour before heading home. Here are Diane&#8217;s brothers Steve and Joe.. \\<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3552.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">People were passing around pictures and We found some of Diane&#8217;s dad Gabe<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3548.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and DIanes&#8217;s aunt\u00a0\u00a0Teresa<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3561.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3557.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3560.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There were quite a few baby around.. I realized that these were Armond&#8217;s great-great-grandkids. pretty cool..\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_3563.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>he was a good guy.. had a good life..<\/p>\n<p>we will all miss him and his stories..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>rest easy uncle armond<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>nite all, nite sam<\/p>\n<p>-me<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning we went to Unclue Armond&#8217;s funeral.
