{"id":330,"date":"2009-03-15T00:27:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-15T04:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/03\/15\/billz-for-skillz\/"},"modified":"2009-03-15T00:27:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-15T04:27:00","slug":"billz-for-skillz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/03\/15\/billz-for-skillz\/","title":{"rendered":"Billz For Skillz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div id=\"pBlogBody_476741858\" class=\"blogContent\">\n<br \/>Hi John&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I was outside today from 9:30-5:30 (with a 1 hour drive home in between).\u00a0 That is my kind of day.\u00a0 Gabe dragged himself out of bed at 7:45 to eat and leave for Sugarbush.\u00a0 Today was the last day of Billz For Skillz.\u00a0 Gabe qualified to attend however they only did 1st place so we don&#8217;t know how well he actually did.\u00a0 I thought he did great.\u00a0 His age group has stiff competition.\u00a0 As always he had fun.\u00a0 Unfortunately Tyler took a face plant in warm ups and had to go off to the hospital for a concusion.\u00a0 He could not remember anything.\u00a0 We heard he was okay.\u00a0 Gabe was sure that he would have taken first place.<\/p>\n<p>I met up with Karen (Cole&#8217;s mom) at 9:30 and we took a snowshoe up our normal trail.\u00a0 We made it up to the lift line of the lift that goes in between the mountains.\u00a0 It was cool to see the line.\u00a0 I guess it cuts right through the bear territory and it took quite a bit to get approval.\u00a0 We had a really good time.\u00a0 We would be very good friends if we lived closer.\u00a0 We think the same.<\/p>\n<p>Here is Gabe&#8230;\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 284px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/DSC_0519.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 482px; height: 322px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/DSC_0520.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This picture is at the end of the competition.\u00a0 Cole (in light blue pants) is to the right of Gabe.\u00a0 He won first place in his ski category and got $500.\u00a0 He also got a new set of skis last night from Night Riders.\u00a0 Not bad for a 12 year old.\u00a0 His brother, who turns 16 next week, is ranked 5th in the nation for speed racing.\u00a0 Something in the genes I think.\u00a0 They are a great family who spends many Saturdays just like this.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 478px; height: 319px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/DSC_0521.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I dropped Gabe at Bolton around 3:30 and then went home to walk the dogs.\u00a0 They had been in all day and really enjoyed getting out.\u00a0 Satori has moved on from taking my socks downstairs to taking my other clothes that she finds on the floor.\u00a0 I found several pieces of clothing around.\u00a0 She must miss me while I am out.<\/p>\n<p>The River Shore has been an ice rink however today was passable due to the 40 degree weather.\u00a0 All along the ice you could see leaves and branches melted down several inches into the ice.\u00a0 The sun must warm up the brown pieces and then they melt in.\u00a0 It was fun to see the different shapes. \u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 455px; height: 341px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/IMG_0425.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 489px; height: 366px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/IMG_0429.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Char and Alex were off to take the horses for a romp.\u00a0 Can you just imagine coming home and hopping on your horse for a walk?\u00a0 George and Jane went to Lucinda Williams last night.\u00a0 Remember they got us tickets.\u00a0 We would not have been able to go anyways due to the Night Riders change.\u00a0 George said the music was great.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 471px; height: 353px;\" src=\"http:\/\/i147.photobucket.com\/albums\/r319\/johncohn\/IMG_0433.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I went home and did another scour of the yard for dog droppings.\u00a0 Glad I didn&#8217;t include pictures.\u00a0 Lacrosse will go better with a cleared yard. <\/p>\n<p>I got Gabe &#038; Trevor from the mountain and they are watching &#8220;The Dudesons&#8221;, eating homemade popcorn and drinking fruit smoothes.\u00a0 They are sore and tired.\u00a0 The Dudesons are the Finnish jackass guys.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure how they survive.\u00a0 I am convinced that they have damaged so many brain cells they have no clue how stupid they actually are.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll just leave it at that.<\/p>\n<p>The joke show was on Prairie Home Companion tonight.\u00a0 I like the classic silly jokes the best.<\/p>\n<p>Look&#8230;I am done writing with enough time to read tonight.\u00a0 You have been out of communication for 2 weeks now.\u00a0 I like writing to you.\u00a0 I feel like we have just talked on the phone.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t get too gushy with others being able to read this.\u00a0 Know you are missed, loved and still a part of our days.\u00a0 Love&#8230;.d <\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi John&#8230;
