I think it&#8217;s the only day of the year that&#8217;s a command all on it&#8217;s own.. It&#8217;s the kind of thing General Patton or Napoleon might have said to his troops to spur them on to battle..<\/p>\n<p>I see it&#8217;s aptly listed in google as *<em><\/em><em>Do Something Day<\/em> !&#8221;..\u00a0 an imperative I have to admit I completely ignored.. I did absolutely nothing today..<\/p>\n<p>OK.. I did do one thing: I tried finding\u00a0 texts with the words &#8220;march forth&#8221; in it.. and I found several\u00a0 interesting ones..<\/p>\n<p>The first is a poem<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 id=\"poemTitle\">A Curse For Kings<\/h3>\n<h4 id=\"poet\"><a title=\"More poems by Vachel Lindsay\" href=\"http:\/\/poetry.poetryx.com\/poets\/148\/\">by Vachel Lindsay<\/a>\u00a0 &#8211; American Poet (1879\u20141931)<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"poemText\">\n<blockquote>\n<pre>A curse upon each king who leads his state,\r\nNo matter what his plea, to this foul game,\r\nAnd may it end his wicked dynasty,\r\nAnd may he die in exile and black shame.\r\n\r\nIf there is vengeance in the Heaven of Heavens,\r\nWhat punishment could Heaven devise for these\r\nWho fill the rivers of the world with dead,\r\nAnd turn their murderers loose on all the seas!\r\n\r\nPut back the clock of time a thousand years,\r\nAnd make our Europe, once the world\u2019s proud Queen,\r\nA shrieking strumpet, furious fratricide,\r\nEater of entrails, wallowing obscene\r\n\r\nIn pits where millions foam and rave and bark,\r\nMad dogs and idiots, thrice drunk with strife;\r\nWhile Science towers above;\u2014a witch, red-winged:\r\nScience we looked to for the light of life.\r\n\r\nCurse me the men who make and sell iron ships,\r\nWho walk the floor in thought, that they may find\r\nEach powder prompt, each steel with fearful edge,\r\nEach deadliest device against mankind.\r\n\r\nCurse me the sleek lords with their plumes and spurs,\r\nMay Heaven give their land to peasant spades,\r\nGive them the brand of Cain, for their pride\u2019s sake,\r\nAnd felon\u2019s stripes for medals and for braids.\r\n\r\nCurse me the fiddling, twiddling diplomats,\r\nHaggling here, plotting and hatching there,\r\nWho make the kind world but their game of cards,\r\nTill millions die at turning of a hair.\r\n\r\nWhat punishment will Heaven devise for these\r\nWho win by others\u2019 sweat and hardihood,\r\nWho make men into stinking vultures\u2019 meat,\r\nSaying to evil still \u201cBe thou my good\u201d?\r\n\r\nAh, he who starts a million souls toward death\r\nShould burn in utmost hell a million years!\r\n\u2014Mothers of men go on the destined wrack\r\nTo give them life, with anguish and with tears:\u2014\r\n\r\nAre all those childbed sorrows sneered away?\r\nYea, fools laugh at the humble christenings,\r\nAnd cradle-joys are mocked of the fat lords:\r\nThese mothers\u2019 sons made dead men for the Kings!\r\n\r\nAll in the name of this or that grim flag,\r\nNo angel-flags in all the rag-array\u2014\r\nBanners the demons love, and all Hell sings\r\nAnd plays wild harps.  Those flags<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">march forth<\/span><\/strong> to-day!<\/pre>\n<\/blockquote>\n<pre>The second is s in the Book of Morman : Helaman 1:19<\/pre>\n<blockquote><p>19 But it came to pass that Coriantumr did <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">march forth<\/span><\/strong> at the head of his numerous host, and came upon the inhabitants of the city, and their march was with such exceedingly great speed that there was no time for the Nephites to gather together their armies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<pre>I even found it in the Holy Quran in <span style=\"color: #062c0e; font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,Times,serif; font-size: large;\"><span><span style=\"color: #062c0e; font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,Times,serif; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #b4b481;\">Sura 9:<\/span> Repentance <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica; font-size: x-small;\">O ye who believe, what ailed you when ye were told to march forth in God\u2019s way, that ye sank down heavily upon the earth? Were ye content with the life of this world instead of the next? \\But the provision of this world\u2019s life is but a little to the next. <sup>39 <\/sup> Unless ye <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">march forth<\/span><\/strong> He will punish you with grievous woe, and will put in. your stead a people other than you! Ye cannot hurt Him at all, for God is mighty over all! <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"poemText\">So&#8230; folks.. there&#8217;s still a few hours in this day of doing..<\/div>\n<div>don&#8217;t sit there any longer..
