\t\t\t\t\t\t (Delayed posting.. just got internet.. back in civilization .. Aug, 2)<\/p>\n

OK.. so it turns out we have no internet or phone down here
in southern Osa.. no wonder on that.. there aren\u2019t many humans down here. I can\u2019t
say that I\u2019m disappointed.. I\u2019ll just have to blog \u00a0offline and uploaded it
later.. It\u2019s kind of nice to be off-line completely again. ..<\/p>\n

So where was I .. literally ? <\/p>\n

Ahh.. Domincal.. We woke today at Costa Pariso.. a really
nice place about 2km south of Dominical.. a favorite surfer destination.. The
grounds were beautiful .. and it was right on the Pacific.. \u00a0\u00a0We all went out
for a morning swim<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Diane and I went for a run up and down the deserted 2KM
beach.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the beach we came across a flock of vultures drying
themselves after yesterdays rain\u2026<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

We admired how the mangroves came right out to the sea.. you
could see them vying<\/p>\n

For the best beach placement.. <\/p>\n

Diane and I headed back and woke the kids for breakfast.. <\/p>\n

The folks at the hotel were quiet and nice.. which was a funny
contrast to the Surfer ethos the place gave off<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

We had fruit smoothies while w contemplated our day.. I
found I\u2019d picked up a hitchhiker.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We \u00a0decided our first order of business was to plant a
SamStone on the highest point<\/p>\n

Of the rocks in the water.. There was a little island (at
high tide) with trees on top. Sam would have been up there in a minute.. so\u2026 we
would be too.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was a little freeky.. high steep and crumbly.. with huge
crashing waves on the cliff facing the ocean.. <\/p>\n

Max placed the stone\u2026 we all sat there with our thoughts for
a bit.. We\u2019d been to Costa Rica \u00a0twice with the three boys \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It felt both good
and sad to be here now.. We all miss Sam.. he\u2019s very much along for the trip in
our hearts. <\/p>\n

We had another long drive ahead of us so we decided to spend
a few hours at the bech. The surf was great.. and the water was warm..
paradise.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We met a sweet beach dog <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We went back to the hotel, checked out and headed south.. Right
away we saw this anteater crossing the road.. a good sign (why did<\/i> the
anteater cross the road ? !,. because his Aunt lived on the other side) <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The first half of the drive was easy.. good paved roads.. We
stopped for lunch <\/p>\n

At the turn off to Osa.. A nice place\u2026 we had Casada.. (which
means \u2019married\u2019).. it\u2019s rice, beans, plantains \u00a0and something else.. this time
the something else was eggs. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help laughing when I noticed the motif for their
restrooms.. <\/p>\n

Pretty sure that Frosty never makes it down this way<\/p>\n

The last 70 KM\u00a0 (42 miles) took about 3 hours to drive.. We
had rickety bridges,<\/p>\n

Huge potholes, dirt roads.. wow..
Even 6 small rivers to cross\u2026 some almost came up to the
doors of the car !<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

We sent Gabe out to check the depth on one.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

S we got near our destination we started to see more
animals, Vultures, Parrots <\/p>\n

And finally.. we were here !!!!<\/p>\n

We\u2019re at Casa Linda, the newer cousin of Casa Bambu. They\u2019re
both made out of Bambu, up on stilts.. Thy have solar power, well water, real
bathrooms..and a 2 way radio.. All the windows are open.. no screens.. you don\u2019
treally need them (though there is a bird in the house now.. <\/p>\n

We began our unpacking.. and exploring<\/p>\n

I almost ran into a spider the size of my hand as I looked around
under the house.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The boys and I headed to the beach about 30 yards from the<\/p>\n

house.. it was getting dark.. but we could see how beautiful it is !<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was getting dark so we headed back home to see Diane and<\/p>\n

start making dinner.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Cooking dinner was a family affair.. We\u2019d stopped at Puerto<\/p>\n

Jimenz and filled every nook and cranny of our packed car with groceries.. A<\/p>\n

guy there sold us some fish he\u2019d caught that morning.. So.. Dinner was fried<\/p>\n

fish tacos, Max\u2019s mango salsa, Gabe\u2019s guacamole and home fries.. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We used cornchips, potatoe chips and even prongles to bread<\/p>\n

the fish.. Yum !!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was so good !!!!!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We spent about a half hour looking at Gabe\u2019s movies from the<\/p>\n

zipline.. then we realized we were all tired.. it wasn\u2019t even 9 oclock .. we<\/p>\n

all went to bed and slept great !<\/p>\n

The beds have mosquito netting.. but I don\u2019t think we need<\/p>\n

them.. It was penty cool enough to sleep..<\/div>\n
