Insanely busy day.. got back from a run at 8 got on the phone.. and had only 10 minutes of off phone time until Diane got home. I never even got out of my running things. It was still bright and beautiful outside.. so Diane and I took the dogs for a walk to the lower gorge. It so felt like spring !<\/p>\n

THere was still snow on the beech of the gorge, but the ice had cleared from the river.. perfect for a quick dip.. Nothing\u00a0 brings you in touch with life like dunking into cold., cold water <\/div>\n

I toweled off wiht my short and in a minute or so I was warm and dry.. or at least dry.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The sun was goign down and giving everything a nice glow.. including Diane.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

As soon as we got home it was tiem to head up to Night Riders. This was the final event of the season. it was still a little blue in the sky when we got up there.. another sure sign of spring. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

After Gabe’s last run. we retreated to teh bar and listened to the band there.. they even played 2 Townes Van Zaondt songs for me as a request.. they were excellent.. <\/p>\n

While we were sitting there, I saw one of the iBM commercials.. the one wiht my friend Julia.. Several other folks said that they played the one of me, too.. that’s pretty wierd !.. Please let me knwo if you see it . too. <\/p>\n

After a while we wentdown to the closing awards for the season. Turns out. Gabe had a good night.. He came in third for the evening.. and .. third for the season overall.. . we’re really proud of him !!! he’s really had an amazing year.. <\/p>\n

His buddy Dylan came in first which is great . too<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There was another surprise in there.. Every yearfor the past 3 years the Sam Cohn Foundation sponsors an award in Sam’s Honor to the Skiier or Rider who has the best spirit, best team mind set, and who has the most fun. The judges make the choice.. not us.. <\/p>\n

This year, they chose Gabe !..\u00a0 He and we were so surprised.. but then.. when I think of whet the award recognizes.. I’d choose him too <\/p>\n

It was a sweet moment..\u00a0 Sam would be proud to see his bro- recognized like this.. <\/div>\n
