Greetings from nyc… Im here for a work meeting.. Getting here involved getting up at 4am… Which on its own would not have been too bad… But i never really managed to fall asleep last night. Usually i sleep like a rock as soon as my head hits the pillow.. But last night i had a cool work problem in my head.. .. And a mechanical problem for the stamp mobile.. Swilling around in my head in one of those stupid confused movie loops one sometimes gets… I remember reading a poem about just that from my favorite poet, billy collins. .. Its called insomnia….<\/p>\n
Insomnia

Even though the house is deeply silent
\nand the room, with no moon,
\nis perfectly dark,
\neven though the body is a sack of exhaustion
\ninert on the bed,<\/p>\n
someone inside me will not
\nget off his tricycle,
\nwill not stop tracing the same tight circle
\non the same green threadbare carpet.<\/p>\n
It makes no difference whether I lie
\nstaring at the ceiling
\nor pace the living-room floor,
\nhe keeps on making his furious rounds,
\nlittle pedaler in his frenzy,
\nmy own worst enemy, my oldest friend.<\/p>\n
What is there to do but close my eyes
\nand watch him circling the night,
\nschoolboy in an ill-fitting jacket,
\nleaning forward, his cap on backwards,
\nwringing the handlebars,
\nmaintaining a certain speed?<\/p>\n
Does anything exist at this hour
\nin this nest of dark rooms
\nbut the spectacle of him
\nand the hope that before dawn
\nI can lift out some curious detail
\nthat will carry me off to sleep\u2014
\nthe watch that encircles his pale wrist,
\nthe expandable band,
\nthe tiny hands that keep pointing this way and that.<\/p>\n
So.. He i sit in the most exciting city in the world. , ready to go to sleep at 9:30 pm… It just aint right…<\/p>\n
But im so sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee<\/p>\n
