We woke up in our beautiful room in Manuel Antonio..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Diane cooked breakfast colony style by combining all the food we had left.. This was mashed up rotten bananas, pancake mix (minus eggs) and chocolate..\u00a0\u00a0 It was awesome .. as everything she cooks !> <\/div>\n

(hey.. I just realized I started working at IBM 29 years ago today !!!!) <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The boys slept latish.. I could almost see Sam between them.. that’s how they all slept when we were in this same hotel 12 years ago. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We moved our stuf into our new room (we had to change) ..\u00a0\u00a0 then walked down the 1\/2 mile to the beach..\u00a0\u00a0 This place is one of the most developed in Costa Rica.. but .. it hasn’t changed that much since 1998.. we were here also in 2004.. .. it’s built up. but not getting worse. <\/div>\n

We had to wait about 30 min to get into Manual Antonio because they only allow 600 folks in the park at once.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We got in around 9:30.. not sure how long these guys had to wait. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

First thing we saw was a sloth !.. This was the last thing I had to cross off my list on the trip !!!<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We walked about\u00a0 a mile to the beach… <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We came across this troop of humans on the beach.. I was able to get a picture of them before they scattered.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Then… out came the monkeys.. eating well as always.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We grabbed a quick lunch.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Immediately the animals started to close in.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

These guys were so persistent that I couldn’t shoe them away !<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The monkeys grabbed our fruit juice !!!. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

They finally found better fair. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The beach is beautiful.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I put out a samstone .. ok.. a samstone coated in peanut butter… <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

They fianlly dropped the stone.. so we threw it in the ocean…\u00a0\u00a0 5 minutes later it slid into Max’s hand as he playde in the Surf !.. I kept that stone.. we threw in a differnt stone. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We found one o fht eold abandoned shower stalls we’d used 12 years ago.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Max was convinced it was an alien abduction device.. I think he was right. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As we headed out of the park we could see our hotel.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the way out we had to wade across the river that sperates the park form the shore.. this sign didn’t make walking through the mucky water too appealing.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was just an amazing visit.. so many animals.. wonderful beaches.. It was the perfect place to be.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We stopped for a quick ceviche on the way out.. yummmmmm !\u00a0 That was seriously the last thing on my ‘must do’ list for this trip. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

As we sat there.. I remember that we parked here in 98.. we picked up mangoes here.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Then we walked up hill.. slowly.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

OK.. out we go to dinner now..\u00a0\u00a0 great day…<\/p>\n
