\t\t\t\t\t\t I’m in route back to VT after a fun\/short\/interesting visit to Notre<\/p>\n

Dame. It was very good catching up with my old friends there.\u00a0\u00a0 TOday I<\/p>\n

did my best to attend the meeting in notre dame while also attending to<\/p>\n

work. I did a fair ob.. but it’s hard to be in two places at once..\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

You know, I’m getting increasingly convinced that our work culture is<\/p>\n

doing the wrong thing in focusing so much on remote collaboration..It<\/p>\n

certainly has it’s place on large projects.. but the level of<\/p>\n

interaction is so much less interesting and less fulfilling.\u00a0\u00a0 I think<\/p>\n

we need to divide our work such more tasks are geared around locally<\/p>\n

autonomous face to face teams that would get together every so often to<\/p>\n

collaborate remotely.. Call me a Luddite.. but I miss seeing people<\/p>\n

when I tlak to them.. Nearly 0% of my work involves seeing people thse<\/p>\n

days.. and seeing peopl eis one of the things I most love in life.. go<\/p>\n

figure..
On a different note. I noticed this morning that today was<\/p>\n

my 28th service anniversary at IBM.. 28 years ago I walked into building<\/p>\n

973 wearing a light blue sweater with multiple holes in it.. I remember<\/p>\n

that because I’d never lived anywhere that you might need a sweater in<\/p>\n

august.\u00a0\u00a0 My most memorable thing about that day was that I got to set<\/p>\n

off a fire extinguisher !…\u00a0\u00a0 28 years.. wow.. what A ride it’s been…<\/p>\n

Speaking<\/p>\n

of ride.. the plane is abotu to begin loading.. I better sign off<\/p>\n

here.. It’s time to start getting nervous and excited\u00a0 about the 3rd<\/p>\n

installemnt of The Colony tomorrow.. Here’s\u00a0 a short prelude of<\/p>\n

tomorrow nights show<\/p>\n
