Yesterdayn was a busy,. busy day.. we woke to snow.. the media was callign it the start of Snowpokalypse.. 3-4 days of snow.. ith nearly 6 incehes of snow expected. not the kind of warnign that scares us.. until you see how folks in portland drive in snow \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

first step at starting  the day was breakfast at gabe’s.. omelets to get us through our day \"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then we all piled in to the car and headed about 2 hours up into the mountains in search of a hot spring that max had just visited.. The roads were ok at first.. the scenery spectacular \"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

pretty soon we crossed the snow line.. by the time we got to our destination there was more than 6 inches of snow in the road\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

we got to the trailhead and were one of only 2 cars… .. we bundled up and started the 1.5 mile hike into the hills to find the hot springs. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

the place was amazing.. small wooden houses in various states of repair.. and natural tubs .. max figured ours out and filled it with wonderfully hot water from the nearvy spring<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Gabe and I did some snow angels to shake off the heat<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

then it was maxs turn<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

we had a nice visitor thr0ughout our stay.. I called him Sam.. just in case \ud83d\ude42 \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then we dressed and started the hike back.. more folks were showing up.. we were glad to have been here when we were \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

we got back to gabes around 6.. and at 7 we made a simple and fun dinner. DIane made a zero carb cheescake ! \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

the dinner and cheesake were delicious !>. .. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then came soem really amzing surprises.!.. diane had written to a ton of freinds.. and more than 60 of them sent crads.. all of them came to gabes.. . it was so wonderful reading all of these.. If you sent one.. thank you so much !!!!\"\"<\/p>\n

it was great matching up the card with the folks who sent it.. (Matt.. mellissaa.. this one is amazing) \"\"<\/p>\n

soem wrote wonderful songs !\"\"<\/p>\n

soen were 3d printed !<\/p>\n

some were laser cut<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

some sent cool science riddles .. Like this one from DIane >> Johncohnium !!!!!!\"\"<\/p>\n

I was pretty verklempt reading all of these.. it made me happy, sad, grateful .. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Max;s card was plasma cut from a carbide saw blade that will now hang in my shop.. CHeck this out !!!\/   Gabe helped with the design n, (Zatar is my kid stage name.. and burnign man name).. squid is my totem animal !\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

the most amazing thing is a movie that gabe and max made its has nearly 100 short vinettes of them ishing me a happy birtdhay at various places and situationsa all through the last year.. it’s SOOOOOO Cool.. I will upload it to share..  it took so much thinking. palanning, editidng.. I cant ebelive they did it !<\/p>\n

I love those kids.. so much !<\/p>\n

we finhed the long and fun day with a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the CLinton theatre.. they’ve been playing Rocky Horror every saturday night for 40 years !.. That makes it the longes single theatre run of any movie.. ever !!<\/p>\n

the MC pulled anyoen who hadn’t seen Rocky Hooror up on stage for some challenges befor ethe show. THt meant Gabe and Abbott\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then the movie started..  hoensly.. i’ve never seen it all the way through.. And still haven’t.. I kept fallign asleep !\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

it was a reat way to end the day<\/p>\n

we crawled into bed around 2am.. for abot 4 hours of sleep..<\/p>\n

it was an amazing day.. and I really am grateful for my family present, aand absent <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
