Productive day in Cambridge. Went to a party for the Mit bridge and went straight from there to Kol Nidre service for the start of Yom Kippur. There or services for reform, conservative, orthodox\u2026 I don’t know what I consider myself anymore but I chose reform because it was in the chapel building that I was accused of phone hacking in 1981 (I didn’t do it!)\u2026 That’s actually a funny story\u2026 Maybe I’ll tell it later<\/p>\n

There were about 50 people at the service\u2026 It was fairly traditional. I never got the name of the guy who was running it but he had a great voice and his Hebrew was perfect.It felt both strange and familiar to be in that building with all the strangers saying the words that I’ve repeated for more than 50 years. It was comforting for sure.<\/p>\n

M Kapoor is the day that you iTunes for your sins of the previously year.\u2026 The service is full of admissions I think she might’ve done wrong in the previous year. I’m always amazed at how creative they could be. Whether it’s abusing food and drink\u2026, Disrespecting your teachers, taking advantage of people in business\u2026 They have all the bases covered.<\/p>\n

It’s actually pretty helpful rubric for you to reflect.<\/p>\n

And I do reflect\u2026 The next 24 hours are About going over everything you Did or thought of in the past year and asking yourself if you did it in good faith\u2026 If you did your best\u2026 If you were honest<\/p>\n

For me it’s mostly cathartic\u2026 I actually enjoy the opportunity to do a tuneup.<\/p>\n

It’s also a time to reflect on those years past\u2026 That part is always hard for me but I think Sam, my dad and Diane’s folks.<\/p>\n

It’s all towards a new beginning of the year really kicks in tomorrow night<\/p>\n
