I was in Cambridge yesterday and it just happened to be the monthly meeting of the Fathers Forever group\ufffc. Fathers Forever Is a group of guys all had a child who has died. I think getting together with them every so often every year since 2007. Members have come and gone\u2026 With the court group are now with old friends of mine. I Hadn’t\ufffc\ufffc been to one of these breakfast meetings\ufffc In a very long time. This one was at friend Steve’s pottery studio in Needham\ufffc<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

They were about 15 of us there\u2026 I didn’t feel it was right to take a picture of us all sitting around In a circle. But here’s where we were\ufffc<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Most of the meeting consisted of us just going around the circle introducing ourselves talking about our child and how we were doing. I was near the end of the circle. I have to admit it was pretty hard and painful listening to everyone’s stories. Many of them I already knew but they were still hard to hear.\u2026 And you are ones are the hardest for me. I don’t know how To explain it though as painful as it was to hear everyone’s stories\u2026 and about their kids Accidents, drug overdoses, suicides, illnesses\u2026\ufffcWe also heard about how they themselves were doing and how their families were doing and what they were doing in honor of their child.\ufffcIt was overall very life affirming\ufffc. Ultimately each thai story was about how they and their family are moving through life.\ufffcI always come away from these meetings feeling uplifted somehow .\u2026\ufffc<\/p>\n

I took advantage of being there to see my friend Steve’s pottery studio. I sent Jarrod died 10 years ago. Steve chose to mark his sensitive I making\ufffc a Chawan A day for 365 days. They are simple clay balls\u2026 Made all of these and created an experience called a Fathers Kaddish https:\/\/thepottersshopandschool.yolasite.com\/a-fathers-kaddish.php<\/a><\/p>\n

Experience has been made into a movie which I will share when I get it\ufffc<\/p>\n

As I went to leave the meeting\u2026 I found a bunch of the guys still at the parking lot talking. That’s what it was all about\ufffc<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Drive home was uneventful\u2026 Got home in time to have a lovely dinner with her friend Kyle’s parents were staying with us for the night\ufffc<\/p>\n

OK\u2026 Ready to start a new day. More later\ufffc<\/p>\n
