{"id":760,"date":"2009-04-01T01:39:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-01T05:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/04\/01\/an-eventful-day\/"},"modified":"2009-04-01T01:39:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-01T05:39:00","slug":"an-eventful-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/2009\/04\/01\/an-eventful-day\/","title":{"rendered":"An Eventful Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pBlogBody_480394206\" class=\"blogContent\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t    Hi John&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>My day was uneventful however there was much happening around me.\u00a0 First a Happy Birthday shout out to Berto and Dylan.\u00a0 Nephew Berto just couldn&#8217;t wait one more day to share his birthday with me.\u00a0 Oh well&#8230;he gets cake first.\u00a0 Dylan spent his 16th birthday recuperating from a broken collar bone.\u00a0 Gabe &#038; I stopped over today and saw his xrays.\u00a0 His collar bone looked like a broken chicken bone,,,it snapped right in half.\u00a0 Too bad because he was finishing out a beautiful season with snowboarding.\u00a0 Oh well&#8230;he is in good spirits and happier to have it at the end rather than the beginning of the season.\u00a0 He has to sit tall and keep perfect posture while it heals.\u00a0 That is a challenge for any teenager.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of teenagers, tonight was my last teen yoga and they all wanted to keep it going.\u00a0 I will be moving the class to Wednesdays, a non-lacrosse night.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Brit has arrive in Montreal today and is staying with Caroline.\u00a0 Barry will pick her up tomorrow.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure when we will get some time with her.\u00a0 She is planning on finishing up her schooling and get a job.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t wait to talk with her.\u00a0 Barry is in between nursing jobs and slept in Max&#8217;s room today before his night shift.\u00a0 It worked out fine because I was barely home.\u00a0 I told him to take Max&#8217;s room so the dogs would not wake him.<\/p>\n<p>Greta went for surgery today to get a new hip.\u00a0 I am told all went well and she is recovering.\u00a0 I am proud that she went ahead with this.\u00a0 Those major surgergies take some thought.\u00a0 Her recovery will be a slow and steady.\u00a0 They are very careful to ease into working it.\u00a0 I hope I can go see her soon.\u00a0 I had Sydney and Oliver in class tonight.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Those are all biggies.\u00a0 My day was mediocre in comparison.\u00a0 It started with the Prius getting inspected today.\u00a0 For some reason you, me, the autbody shop, the detail shop, Toyota service, and the police officer who wrote the accident report on your deer encounter&#8230;.all did not see that the inspection sticker was 3 months past due.\u00a0 However, the nice officer who stopped me on Sunday did.\u00a0 I actually love the fact that all of us did not notice.\u00a0 Human nature at its best.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Once home Kathy and I took the dogs for a walk.\u00a0 There is alot of mud out there.\u00a0 The dogs were coated.\u00a0 So much for my clean dogs.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Once home I headed to the laundry mat.\u00a0 This is the first time I have gone since you left.\u00a0 I had to wash some bedding.\u00a0 Once home, I left again to get Gabe for his dentist appoinment.\u00a0 He got his teeth cleaned and sealants put in his back molars.\u00a0 He was amazed with all the hands in his mouth.\u00a0 When we came home I met Barry on the corner.\u00a0 He had a good rest and shower.\u00a0 It was good for him to see the kids at our house waiting for the yoga class.\u00a0 It has been awhile.<\/p>\n<p>Gabe is a little under the weather.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll see what it turns into tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>I talked with my brother Steve tonight.\u00a0 They had five goats born within about an hours time&#8230;twins and triplets.\u00a0 They have had to bottle feed them.\u00a0 Hopefully we will get a visit in May from him&#8230;and maybe Elizabeth.\u00a0 I think the goats will stay home.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>I also talked with Linda.\u00a0 They are all doing well.\u00a0 I loved catching up with her.<\/p>\n<p>I have been practicing staying in the moment today.\u00a0 When my mind travels to understanding that I will pass through my 49th birthday without Sam on this planet I am truly sad.\u00a0 My experience tells me that I will pass through that day as I do all my others&#8230;.with gratitude, love and sadness all wrapped together.\u00a0 This mind does not do us justice at times.\u00a0 It creates senarios that really never come true yet make you ache as you live them in your mind.\u00a0 Being present with breath in this moment&#8230;right now&#8230;is just fine.\u00a0 And that will be the same tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>With that&#8230;I say good night to you.\u00a0 I love you and miss you.\u00a0 love&#8230;d \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi John&#8230;
