Greetings from NYC.. Diane . Gabe, Kristin and I are down visiting Max during Gabe and Kristin’s school break. Last night we drove as far as Rye Brook and stayed in a hotel. We got in late, but had time to set out a late night feast on the ironing board. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We got a reasonably early start today with Breakfast at the hotel.. then an hour drive to the city <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Reptar was there to great us.. He’s moving out with JJ as he graduates.. we’re going to miss seeing him..<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We also wanted to say good luck to many of Max’s friends who are graduating this year.. they’re all deep i in final projects and pretty wired.. like Chris here.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

One of our big missions during this trip was to survery Max’s next project .. This summer he’s helping to renovate to a boat\u00a0 .. a 1978 ferry boat t \u00a0 Max’s new friend , Jonathon baught the boat and now has it parked in ta canal.. a couple of miles inland <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The place is full of interesting.. uh.. stuff.. like \u00a0box of manachin hands. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And an orange plastic deer head. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

and.. one of the dual 900 HP turbo desal engines.. .. in workign order.. <\/div>\n

The neghborhood isa mix of industrial and hipster.. a really nice place. .. with GREAT graffiti<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

And excellent resturants.. like this middleeastern place. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the afternoon Diane Gabe. Kristin and I went into manhattan to poke around.. It was Kristin’s fifirst time in a subway.. so we wanted to capture that. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

We hiked around Cnal street.. which has some cool an enique tores.. like ‘Let there be Neon’.. a place I used to visit nearly 30 years ago. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We poked around a bunch of trendy and fashionable stores.. not buying anything..mostly people watching.. including watching ourselves.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Then back to Max’s for a quikc dinner.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Then all 8 of us piled in to the prius and drove to max’s Junior Film Show.. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The show was really grea.t. I love all the work.. .. especially Max’s.. which of course I’d say anyway.. but I realy mean !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Afterwards there was an afterparty at clube Rope.. Max and I each had Absythe.. which is a cool thing to do after seeing art movies.. <\/div>\n

OK.. It’s late and I’m sleepy.. more tomorrow.. Nite everyone.. nite Sam
