I didn’t blog last night because I didn’t know how to reconcile the day I had. It started on a very tough note. My dear friend Scott entered hospice care on Thursday night. He’s in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. I was able to spend 2 1\/2 hours with him in the morning at the hospice\u2026 It’s such a beautiful and calm place compared to the hospital. It was really nice being able to hang out. And Scott is my closest nerd friend\ufffc . We met over 30 years ago\u2026 And he’s help me build the equipment I use to get kids jazzed about science. I learned so much from him\u2026 And I will miss him so very much\ufffc\u2026\ufffcwe’ve been working together to try to find home all of his amazing science gear that he’s collected over the years\ufffc. We think we found good homes for most of it. It feels good to have something to do together. Scott seems to be a piece now\u2026 He’s such a remarkable guy\ufffc<\/p>\n

I hope to be able to go and see Scott again a couple of times this week\u2026 But at this point none of us know\u2026<\/p>\n

Am I I can’t even bring myself to say it\ufffc<\/p>\n

Anyway. Please send your love and thoughts to Scott\ufffc and his family \ufffc<\/p>\n

And the paradox of course is that life continues to go on outside. ‘Diane and I agreed two giveaway popcorn and snowcone Chris and Kim’s Cirque du Fuego Show last night\u2026 I have to admit my heart wasn’t really into it because I was thinking of Scott\u2026 But the show must go on<\/p>\n

It was a great event\u2026 And ultimately I was glad to be there\u2026<\/p>\n

\ufffcI’ve learned over the years that \ufffcYou can be sad and happy at the same time\ufffc<\/p>\n

Please keep scott and his family in your hearts\ufffc<\/p>\n
