\t\t\t\t\t\t Yikes… !\u00a0 I’m a statistic.. at 10:30 am.. and 10:30 PM last sunday someone broken into our Itunes account and stole about $5000 by making more than 30 PayPal authorized purchases that were tied to our bank account.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

It was so weird.. I just happened to look at my phone at the right time and notiI was getting a big mess of emails from Itunes.<\/p>\n

I immediately called the bank and shut off my account. and declared my debit card compromised. <\/p>\n

\u00a0notified Paypal and deauthorized and called Apple. My bank and PayPal have been excellent in helping us get out money back. Though it may take a week or so.. I just heard from Apple too.. looks like they’re going to be helpful as well. . Evidently this is related to a known security bug of theirs. <\/p>\n

I’m not sure how I feel about the whole event . At some level it was amazing and kind of terrifying.. at another level it’s kind of fascinating.. I recognize the irony that someone (or someones) hacked me just as I was getting better at hacking other peoples wirelesss security. I still claim the moral high ground as I never break in to do mischief or steal data .. I just do it for fun to see if I can.. Is that rationalization ?
Maybe the whole thing is karma.. I guess I should clean up my act.. <\/p>\n
