Those of you with new houses probably dread putting up storm windows as well… But let me tell you, hundred-year-old storm windows are real treat. Actually I don't know how old they are but They are about 7 feet tall each with 12 panes of glass and weigh about 40 Pounds apiece.

The thought of putting up windows brings foul weather and today was no exception. The day started sunny for a run and immediately shifted to sleet as soon as we got the first glass hoisted. Ritual starts with cleaning both the storm windows and the house windows. That part I actually enjoy doing

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://johncohn.org/base/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/wpid-Photo-Oct-27-2013-730-PM.jpg target=_blank style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;>

The challenge of finding which window is which. It's not that they're not labeled, it's just that there's about four different labeling systems that of been in use for the past who knows how many years. And they don't all agree.

The storm windows each have their own personality. They're not interchangeable. Like this one always strikes me as an accountant. Its Relatively new and was made only 12 years ago. Its new wood, perfect caulking and Fresh paint make it look a little Conservative

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://http://johncohn.org/base/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/wpid-Photo-Oct-27-2013-730-PM1.jpg target=_blank style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; title=>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;>

s an old friend… It's the one I look out the most probably it's our kitchen window… It watches us Cook.

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://johncohn.org/base/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/wpid-Photo-Oct-27-2013-730-PM2.jpg target=_blank style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;>

<div class=separator style=text-align: left;clear: both; > This one is like a crotchety old man. it's caulking is gone it's falling apart and it fights back when you put it up.

<div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://johncohn.org/base/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/wpid-Photo-Oct-27-2013-731-PM.jpg target=_blank style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;>

I

Despite the hassle, it's a great feeling when all the windows are up.
