I t happens nearly every year, temperatures jump above freezing, the snow melts and things flood.. but this year, there&#8217;s note really much snow.. just ice.. It&#8217;s been near 40 degrees out ( a real heat spell for this time of year !) Actually.. it&#8217;s kind of nice to get the ice to melt.. it&#8217;s 3 inches think in places on roads, sidewalks,etc.. It&#8217;s as hard as concrete.. so the only thing to do is to wait for it to thaw.. and thaw it did !<\/p>\n<p>The runoff and the rain we had have created some chaos. \u00a0The Barlows field is now a lake<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7625.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Their road is a skating rink<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7631.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7623.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our back \u00a0yard is a lake as well<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7632.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The river is way out of its banks.. here&#8217;s the woods across the street from us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7641.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Upstream of the bridge rive itself is an ice jam about a half mile long. (literally, i ran it) . Well not really a jam.. as water is still flowing underneath<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7645.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">down stream of our bridge, the winooski is pretty clear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">u<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/johncohn.org\/base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7650.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">route 2 was closed all morning.
