It’s about 1 Am and I’m finally home in VT again.. after another quick trip down to New York. This one was fun and productive. It was an invention session.. so a bunch of us were getting paid to sit around and think up cool stuff. It was just like being in the cololny.. but the IBM food wasn’t as good 🙂
Right now I’m sitting outside in a cool breeze.. I’m actually sitting on top of our new septic system. I can feel it rumbling beneath me as it churns it’s mechanical teath on all the wonderful things we feed it.. I think it’s got more moving parts than my car. .. it sounds like an underground Vesuvious about to erupt..
I managed to get home in time to meet seth and his freind Leo to work on the .. I had hoped.. the last parts of the lighting for the burnign man timecycle. This has proven to be much harder and much more frustrating than I could have everimagined. The fancy lighting strips that I imported from china at great difficulty and expense are not workign very well. The tiny solder connections that hold the chips on to the flexible tpe are not strong. They keep breaking and causign the lights to fail. I keep repairing hings under strong magnification.. but I am now wondering if it will ever be robust enough to stand p to the abuse of being at burnign man.
Seth, Leo and I worked for several hours tonight trying to get the tiny conectors between the strips to work.Max and Pat R. came over to help out for a bit too wchich was grea.t . it’s frustrating, small and intricate work. My hands , back and eyes ache from starign at it. Around 12:30 we were getting cranky.. so we all decided to call it quoits.. I’ve only gotten 7 hours of sleep in the last 48.. so I was starting to make crazy mistakes.. so I just surrendered.. enough for tonight. It’sll look better in the morning.. or not.. doesn’t matter. I think I’m getting better at that sort of surrender.. admitting my limitations instead of driving myself into the ground.. I guess there’s wisdom there… or suckage.. not sure which…
Speakign of suckage.. my battery is giving out.. I better sign out now before I fall into the spetic system…
