I just had a nice surprise. I recently reconnected via Linkedin with a friend, Jim K, who retired from IBM a year or so back. He’s now working at his Alma Mater Purdue. I mentioned yesterday that my grandfather Maxwell Ettlinger attended Purdue. I never got to meet my grandfather as he died in 1952 when my Mom was in college. This morning Jim sent me the following two pictures he found of my Grandfather.

It seems that my grandfather was a frat boy .. A member of Sigma Alpha Mu..  a Jewish frat.  .who’s members were called  ‘Sammy’s  ..  I’m not certain, but I think my Dad was also a Sammy.. I’ll check ..  It’s so cool seeing Max like this !

One other cool factoid. Maxwell Ettlinger married my grandmother  Minnie Lowenthal.. They were Max and Min.. how cool is that ..more tomorrow..!
