Friday evening – rainy vibes

Very cool here in ever respect. It rained most of the day which was strangely nice.. . I'm wearing a coat to fight in the cool weather here a welcome far cry from the steam bath of two days ago… We spent the whole day Huddled inside the bus talking, programming, eating and drinking.. A perfect vacation day.. Though I'm missing my family.. I here the first few notes of bob wires guitar drifting thought the window, so I better make this short.. Tonight will be a long show.. My favorite act will start at 2am (!) so I better charge charge up . Here was the seen in the bus last night

First stop was the bio bus.. Ben and asah have THE coolest scanning electron microscope on their bus. I just gotta get one of these for ECHO… Here are some bacteria on the surface of a brine shrimp. Just how cool is that ?

Much of the day was spent in the bus, listening to music and programming.. .. And of course, talking with passing hippies.

The rain came and went all day.. But spirits weren't dampened
. Here's us recruiting passerbys to help us make up for our low solar yield by peddling our generator….

The music goes on rain or shine.. Thank goodness.. As dreary as it looks, it was fun as a sunny day !

Thursday eveining – more from the Vibes

Woke refreshed after camping last night ..The air is cool and fresh here.. nothing like the past week.. thank g-d !

 

Absolutely wonderful day at the Gathering of the Vibes today. The real festival starts this evening (now.. actually.. I’m listening to Yonder Mountain String Band as I type). We spent the day setting up Gary’s Solar Bus for the zillions of hippies that will visit over the next couple of days. Our mission is to explain the benefits of solar energy .. and how it works.. We have a bunch of great folks here..  I’m particulary proud of my two UVM Senior design project tea members who have brought their IBM-sponsored senior project here to show off. more pics of that tonight..

 

It’s been so great hanging out with them.. and with the UVM folks who are here with their projects, and with the other exhibitors.. and most of all with all the random hippies who have stopped by today..

Tuesday night -drenched

Just finishing prep for a biz trip. Leaving early I tomorrow, then going to the gathering of the vibes music festival with the team I mentored from the UVM senior design course. We recruited them to the project with the idea that they would take their device to a music festival.. And by golly were going to do it.

I had a really busy day at work.. And still tons to do… But I need to get some sleep.. I took a few hours tonight to go to an organizing meeting of the Vermont Makers.. Great folks doing something really good for the geeks and geeketts of our region.

Just as the meeting was over, I asked our hostess, Rebecca's to try out my new light up hoop. I asked her to turn out the lights and the second I said that, there was a huge flash of lightening and a crack of thunder and the whole street went black.. Very dramatic.. I like to think, that Sam is behind the many electrical distu

the and spent an hour rebuilding a power supply for the led peace sign for the front of Gary's bus..it still hot and muggy and rainy.. I just came in drenched with remain and sweat..

 

Now to sleep.. I hope.. Perchance to dream..
