I was tempted to satrtt by saying 'busy day' but will refrain. My buddy Ville sent me this nice article on the cult of being ever busy.. Good food for thought.. ( but it was a busy day, anyway). Sarted with an early morning electricity show for a bunch of physcis kids at burlington high school.. Then a very full day at work.

The big news for the day is thatni finally got my ids back.. Ive been without a badge at work for several weeks. One of the nice things about being funny looking as that folks remember me… So i usually have no trouble 'faking' my way into the buildings at work. The only trouble is grtting in at night and early mornings. I finally knuckled in and got a new badge made. I was a little bummed becase my old badge had me wearing a Sam pin.. I didnt have one with me today.l so i was a little sad not to have that it on a new picture.. I was so happy to learn that they still had it on file… So here it is..

I also dropped by UVM and finally got my id there after years of being part time faculty.

It feels nice to be official again …

I came home to find that my frind Victor had dropped off some 3d printed samstones . He used the design i had put out here.

Guess thats it for the day.. More tomorrow

Diane's sleeping so i need to resort to typing again.. So no voice dictation.. I apologize for my spelling up front. Hmmmm.. What happened noteworthy today.. I guess the high point of the day were late afternoon meetings for next years Champlain Maikfaire at shelburne farms.(its gonna be so great !) .. And the UVM SEED engineering show at the davis center later this evening.

The makerfaire meeting was one of the steady cadence of meetings. Have to build on last years makierfaire success. It w a beutiul evening for the meeting. The trees were just coming out at shelbourne frms. If only we could get weather like this for the maikerfaire. It was cold and rainy..then But we still ended up with about 3 times more folks than we expected… .. (Almost 1700 !)

We spent an hour talking about next years event..what kind of makers should we have ? What kind of massive collaboration event can we create ? What kind of food makers should we invite ? If you have a suggestion for next years event.. We'd love to have them now !

After that, i headed to to the UVM davis center to see the annual SEED capstone engineering class project display. Last year we had our kinect with echo piece here. This year there was some cool stuff… Like this theremin

I think my fav thou was my freind ethens teams solar top.. It used light from the sun to spin a 60 pound dredel.. How cool is that ?

Then it was tiem for home…

No getting around it, my mojo is just not where it needs to be right now. Something in the Air maybe ? ive been struggling to get my head around work and life.. By midday I needed to stand up and shake it off.. Diane and i took the dogs for a short post lunch walk down by the river.. The water looked good.. So in i went..

Nothing like 40 degree water to get your mojo working again.. T least it got me through the afternoon…

I Just got the coolest present from Gabe. He just came downstairs and gave me a lacrosse hoodie just like his !

it has his number 10 (as was his brothers) on it.. but Instead of saying: Cohn , mine says Zatar . Zatar Is my alter ego / my stage name for the science show stuff that I do.

It is so cool to have this thing. Gabe had it made special for me and gave it to me now so I have a chance to wear it while it was still cold I have been wearing around all night and it just makes me smile My smile muscles hurt.

Gabe is one really good kid. I'm really proud to be his dad
