I took this day at about half speed. After the last couple of weeks and getting ready for the User required show… And some very busy times at work, I was Ready to take it easy again. The weather cooperated By being just nice enough to go outside but not so nice that it compelled me to go outside All day. After puttering around for most of the day, I found myself missing hands-on activity… So I walked over to the lab to see what was waiting for me there.
There were a ton of projects lined up waiting for attention. One, a musical instrument, is well past due and almost done. So I started there. It was satisfyingly mindless work… Lots of cutting, stripping, and soldering… The kind of things I can do with my eyes closed though I suppose soldering with your eyes closed is ill-advised. It took me a while to do but I got one of the instruments done Of the six i have to finish hopefully tomorrow I can finish a couple more. It will be really nice to have that project done. When I'm doing that kind of work time just flies and before I knew it it was dinner time.
We went over to Jim and Jen's for a really nice Pot – luck dinner. It was great seeing friends and hanging out. After dinner, We all talked about what our superpowers would be if we have them. Was funny to hear what people would choose. I called myself the permutor because I frequently mixup letters and words and can see what they spell sideways. One friends power was that she could fall asleep anywhere. Another was being able to pick the Berlex bikes. One friend had a power so horrifying that I can't mention it here. Use your imagination.
What would your secret power Wi if you have one and what would you call yourself? Food for thought… More tomorrow

Back from the grand of the user required show at the Burlington firehouse Gallery. It was a great turnout. Despite the bad weather, 440 people showed up to play with all the interactive toys. I really was proud of the pieces that we had done. Not just ours but all of them. What was even better was the behind-the-scenes collaboration, all of the Burlington makers were there until three or four in the morning helping each other out. It was awesome. The best thing about it is that it's a great touchstone for what's going to happen here in the future .I'm proud to be part of it.
After the show a bunch of us went over to the bluebird Café and hung out a little more… I ended up with that kind of post build funk where it was hard to separate from the People and projects. I don't know what I'm going to fret about tomorrow morning, I'm sure I'll think of something.
Anyway… It was a great experience. I was proud for all of us and I was very pleased everyone had a good time. Now time to get a real night sleep for the first time in several weeks. More tomorrow,

It's only 11:30 and im home and I'm already ready for bed. That's quite a new thing for me these last couple of weeks. Tonight we finished our install for the exhibit at the firehouse Gallery. The opening is tomorrow night .. i guess not a moment too soon. It's been a lot of work..l Just like most of these big build projects, you just Don't know what you don't know until you try. I think there's an interesting lesson there for life and for work. Sometimes you must try rather than plan……
Tonight we got the last major glitch (we hope ) out of our device. We had a terrible memory leak Which it turns out my code Had caused. No surprise there 🙂
it was a big relief we all side when we discovered the root of the problem and squashed it. We quickly went across the street and had a celebratory beer before anything else could go wrong.

Walk to my car one last look around the gallery at the two pieces I had helped build . The floorish exhibit at Homer and Karen's really cool water paintings. I'm really proud to be a part of both and I really enjoyed working with both teams.
Now Time for a few hours sleep.
