On my way home from a satisfying, fun and exhausting hackathon with my smart america buddies. Over the past three days as many as 7 of us from two start ups , two universites, on big company and a coutny government .. We were stundent , entrepreneurs, professors and beurocrats (thats me 🙂 workign to make sensor data free and openl . We coded, soldered, argued, did, undid, redid and hacked our brains out. We interfaced about four differnttype of circuits, used three langugaes, multiple protocils, several hosting platforms, spools of wire, solder, circuits.. And ate our weight in thai, indian, japanese and italian food… Ive rarely worked this hard.. And this was play… So satisfying ! .. We finshed today at about 5:30.. It took us 30 min to clean the mess we'd made
I totally loved workign with this crew of folks.. And look forward to continue to work on this smart america project. On june 10th were takign it to the white house to show the CTO of the US what we came up with (i hope its done by then !)
I want to thank our hosts at the the Montgomery County MD executive offices.. Especially dan hoddman who drove us, fed us, encouraged us and focused us. We ended the weekend wiht a great barbecue in the hoffman backyard.. With his great family. I also want to shout out to SCALE team members kyle, Charles, nalini, gushi, dan, jullien, .. And the folks hwo helped from afar..luke, charles, matt .. Thank you all.. Awesome teamwork !
