Just back from a really nice evening at friend Jared’s house. His dad Joel and Jared;s friend Rich and Richie were there with Diane and Me. While we talked, Jared whipped up an amazing meal of chopped salad, braised Brussels sprouts and wild mushrooms and pan seared skate.. Like a fine restaurant.. but no need to leave a tip (I hope).. Great conversations tonight too on the topics of poverty, kids, health, hiking.. and a long riff on Play that I initiated to hep me think through my talk. Many thanks to everyone there for a really thought provoking evening..
The rest of the day was insanely busy and productive.. but nothing I can go into here..
that leads me back t last night.. a very nice dinner at marcia and matt’s. The theme of the evening was mustaches’.. I think we all carried it off well !

Today was Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year. the anniversary of the creation of adam and eve in Jewish mythology.. I no longer feel the pull of goign to Shul on holodays but I still find them moving and important. I celibrated today by takign a long walk in the beutiful woods with diane and the dogs. Outside is my ‘shul’. I was surrounded by the wonder of nature and the people (and dogs) that I love.. thats what life is about.
as is the tradition, I hope all of us are inscribed in the book of life and have a sweet and happy new year
At 5 oclock.. our home was overrun with mad men.. not lunatics ( i don’t thin) but NYC advertising creative types.. they’re up here for a joint project we’re doing for work today and tomorrow. and they a re all really. really fun . Here we are sharing of my home made moonshine.
and here’s a really nice dinner that diane made for the whole crew (and we have 5 more showing up tomorrow !)
so far it’s been a blast .. cant wait to shwo you what comes out of it !
oh.. oen other cool visitor today.. found this guy munching on what’s left of our tomato plants today
