monday night – bonus night

I’m accidentally at home in bed tonight. My travel got canceled by an equipment glitch with the plane. Te reschedule just didn’t work out for  the very short trip I had planned.. so here I am at home. I’m sorry to miss the meeting.. but happy to be here with Diane on a beautiful full moon evening.

not much ese to report for the day.. it was busy and uneventful..

Oh one thing did happen. Gabe started his scuba diving class this morning at 8AM wiht a jump into the water. In solidarity I jumped in the pool.. at 50 degrees F out side.. it felt pretty ‘brisk’ !

Sunday night – Alliceheimers

Really beautiful day. Spent the morning hanging around the house. Got a nice run in with the dogs as we waited for Diane to come back from New York.

Macon for a working breakfast at on the rice. Our local bakery is changing hands. The new owners are going to do something similar there… It'll be very interesting to see what happens. That place is been so much part of my life for the last many years. It was great to see RJ they're wearing San peeking out over his apron

Diane came home we decided to take a hike. We haven't done duck Brooke in quite a while so we decided to give that a try. It was a nice Woods walk. There are a couple of great views of our valley from up there.

This evening we had a rare treat. Our friend Dana was practicing at Ted X talk she was giving called AliceHeimers. The practice talk with us at our friend Rick and his wife Mary's house in Underhill. They had such a beautiful view of Mount Mansfield.

Dana chronicled. Her mother's journey through Alzheimer's disease in a graphic novel. Dana has a fine artist and a great storyteller. We all listen to her talk which was wonderful and then gave her feedback. The most important feedback I had was it was a wonderful talk. And she was ready to give it tomorrow. You can read a little more about Dana's work here.

Okay… Need to get some sleep… More tomorrow.

Saturday night – jam for the (other) Sam

Just got back from a nice night on the town. Around 630 I picked up Gabe and we went into town for burritos. Afterwords we did a little walking around what was left of the art hop. Saw some cool stuff. There although it was much quieter in the night before.

I dropped him off around 830 and then was looking for something to do. I decided to stop by higher ground to check out the jam for Sam III. That has been advertised. Several people have asked whether it had anything to do with our Sam. If it did, it would've been a surprise to me. Turns out it didn't. It was a three band benefit for a guy named Sam spear who is been in all three bands. Sam had been in his young 60s when he went into liver failure. He had a combination of hepatitis and liver cancer. He received a new transplant liver, but sadly died of complications soon after. The benefit tonight was for Donate Life Vermont… One of our favorite charities. It was pretty amazing to be listening to a benefit concert with the same name we had had for Sam Also benefiting organ donation.

The first band was the north and rhythm Kings. As they were playing, I quickly recognize that the rhythm guitar player was my good friend Steve. I was able to connect with him after their first set. It was really nice talking to Steve and his wife. My friends Kevin and Judy and Dale were also in the audience. It was really nice catching up with them as well. Music was good and I listened to all three bands. Steve's band was last. Nice to hear them as well.

I ended up leaving so that I could meet my friend Andy downtown. I took a nice walk around, stopped for a beer and then took some more walk. I dropped him off at his house on the way home.

Not a bad day.

Friday night – Art Hop

Just back from the south end art hop.. i think it’s the 20th one, actually. This is the first time in a couple of years that I didn’t have anything to show there.. it felt both weird and good to be able to walk around looking at people instead f stuck at some display.. I say looking at people because, now that I think if it… i didn’t see any art.. We didn’t go in a single exhibit.. i just walked around and saw folks I knew.. which was fun,

Diane’s away at an event..  .. so i met up with some other friends . i walked around with Ellen , Deb and Brit.. we then ran into my friend shawn from work.. together we spent about 4 hours walking up and down pine street.
