Our old friend and mentor Nick D even turned up for dinner.. it was great catching up with him !
i made Florence a halo to help her with her next creer\
nice night…
one other thing from earlier in the day.. Ran by BCA to check in on flourish.. saw my friend Ethan moving a show out of Kerries Metro Gallery .. It was some glass he did in corning. Really beautiful stuff !
We woke this beautiful Easter Sunday to the sound of snow plows again.. Lit another fire and blew on our hands to warm up. By mid day it was a pretty temperate 35 degrees.. We decided to take a hike .. Yesterday we had to rethink our first two hiking destinations because of axel deep mud.. today we tried another place..
Hey.. Hope springs eternal.. or maybe it’s Spring hopes eternal ?
After 20 min of trying to climb on sheer ice covered by last nights snow.. We would have been better in crampons.. maybe even ice skates.. we backed down … chastened but not beaten…. we took the dogs home and went for a 4 mile run instead. By then we were just in sweatshirts.. The sky was blue with white puffy clouds, there was a stiff wind.. but it was beutiful. The spring sunshine crept into my bones …
Both Peach and Easter are about rebirth .. and it’s no coincidence that they both come at the beginning of spring.. and remind us that warmth, light and abundance are coming .. I’m ready !
Happy Peaster everyone.. it’s one of those strange confluences of culture when Pesach (Passover) and Easter coincide. In the spirit of multi culturalism Diane made Easter-egg dyed matzoh balls … and served them in Miso soup .. which is blending our third family heritage of hippy tree hugging vegetarianism.. .. The matzo balls were as tasty as they were colorful !.
Hag Sumach everyone.. and Happy easster too.. whatever your tradition.. we wish you a happy spring..
Just back from a wonderful visit with old friends. We drove an hour to see vince, catherine, nicholous and kelston diane had not seen them in over 20 years . Our friend Todd, who we have also not seen ffor 20 years was there as well. Hed been planning on driving to ny for pesach but got turned back because of the traffic.
In some ways it seemed like no time had passed .. And in other wise it seemed like a lifetime. We had a great time catching up… So. Many memories and so many new stories
Ok.. Gotta wake up early tomorrow.. So i will leave off here..
It has been a great trip. So much fun to have diane here with me.
