I had an epic Odyssey of a day.. Woke at 5 AM staring at the ceiling thinking of a project. on the phone from 7…lost my car keys and got soaked trying to find them in the rain. Found I’d left them in the car (only 1 beer.. not that)
Found them.. and zoomed to the airport and made it to the plane with only 5 min to spare..
but then proceeded to sit on the plane for 2 hours as it got buffeted by wind and rain.. All of our phones were going off with flash flood and tornado alerts.. pretty cool…actually..
but.. as part of Tower and I guess one of them left the door open and the tower flooded so the airport was close. First for just two hours then four hours and one by one the flight started getting canceled. that gave me time to catch lunch with my good buddy Travis
I change my planes two different times before every flight was canceled.. What’s worse is they were no flights the next day until the evening and I was not about to miss halloween. I got one of the few rental cars out of there and tried to drive away but almost all of the roads were underwater .it was epic. I plan was to drive to Houston and see My brother and his family and catch a flight out of Houston in the morning.
It took me more than three hours just to get out of Austin and get on the road to Houston… I saw some crazy scenes with water pouring over bridges bulldozers underwater I couldn’t believe that this was Austin.
It took me about five hours to get to Houston where it normally is about 2 1/2
Had a little spare time so I dropped by to see my old high school
From there I went down towards my old house first I checked in to St. Francis Church where I used to get into all sorts of mischief
This is my nursery school room we’re Mrs. Holliday taught me
Here’s so I came to visit… The old St. Francis statue(though this is a new one)… Can I use to have some pretty interesting conversations
Last stop was three sixty Piney point
home here’s my will mailbox
The place look good, but I am
I think it might be for sale… Or even foreclosed?
I remember getting stung by bees here at the well
As I stood there, I remember that this is the first time I’ve been back since my father passed away… Live here for more than 40 years. It was a great place to grow up. Man I miss him…
Okay going to go pick up my baby brother at the airport… More on that later.
Night all, night sam
