Woke up to a beautiful morning in Nashville. Headed home on an early flight.. worked all day on the plane which was peaceful

 

 

first stop when I got to Vermont was to go check out TechJam. First person i ran into was my friend Matt Dunne .. who’s running for Governor.. I was proud to get a sticker and a selfie !

I had fun walking around tech jam with my freind Cathy who organizes the whole thing.. we had everything from four eyed warriers to IoT Fish health detectors !

One of my fav’s was my freind Ben’s undersea submersibles. His Copany GreenSea is based here in richmond. They are retrofitting the navigation on this baby.. it’s designed to go (i think) 21,000 feet underwater !

Then home at last. I picked up babe on the way.. Max paid us a surprise visit.. and my Bro and sister in law joe and pat are here.. and deb rah too.. it was a spontaneous party !

 

we were sitting there eating when someone said ‘i smell a skunk’.. uh-oh.. where’s chai.. outside ?!?

 

you guessed it.. she got sprayed full in the face poor girl.. first we stuck he in the garage as we got out deskunking brigade..

 

then up in the tub.. Max looked up a deskunking recipe.. hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and soap.. coming right up

it called for normal 3% hydrogen peroxide.. but I only have 28% (dangerous).. I diluted it down to 3% .. but managd to splash myself in the process… Ouch !!!! burned myself pretty nasty

 

we all chipped in while Diane scrubbed and chai shivvered

 

 

soon Chai was smelling like a rose again.. or at least like a dog !

Greetings from the society of women engineers meeting in Nashville. I’m here to give panel on the talk today… though I was pretty busy with day job meetings most of the day I did spend some time talking to all of the smart ladies who were gathered here . the society of women engineers is a multidisciplinary group includes engineers(and scientist) from every possible discipline. I help host a lunch on sponsorship and then did a panel on Internet of things that several of my friends. It was fun and useful at the same time. Later that evening we had a reception hosted by IBM that brought together people from all over the company and outside. I was lucky to run into many good friends and even had some very good work conversations as part of that

]

 

The conference is in Nashville… which is always synonymous country music. And even though I don’t like to admit much… I have a lot of country music in me. It Must be married to Houston. It’s not country that I like but it’s probably something like Americana. I think that’s country music with swearwords. diane is out of town tonight so I had dinner with friend tim.. I think you call that a man date.. We went to mexicali’s and talked physics the whole time.. i new we were doing a good job because everyone else int he restaurant fell over asleep from boredom listening to us..

 

 

one cool thing i did do tonight was try my new Coin (https://onlycoin.com) credit card IoT device..It allows you to upload all of your credit cards into a single card.. very cool !  It worked.. check it out !
