I was on the phone this afternoon with m friend Dima when I heard a tremendous crash downstairs. I ran down and found a slightly wounded red shouldered hawk (i think) lying on the living room floor in a pile of glass. The 5 pound bird had evidently not seen the window and crashed through it. At first I thought the bird was badly hurt.. then it stood up and started to look around. It was big enough to be dangerous… but I was more worried about it than me a that point
diane ran and got a plastic box.. I got it over the bird.. then stuck a poster under it and carried it out.. It was heavy and scared and flapping around like crazy
I got it outside.. and flipped off the top.. It ran.. but did not fly .. into the hedge. It looked like it was ok.. not sure if it was stunned
or injured.. i know it got out of our yard. a few minutes later so Im hoping of the best.
now.. tomorrow I gotta fix the window..
Our thoughts are with you beautiful bird !

I had anday of contrasts…i worked hard for several hours this morning before a team fro IEEE showed up to do some filming. Im helping promote the IEEE DIY project competition. That took several hours of both fun and weird time . I really enjoyed working with the production team..we all ended up at the Generator in late afternoon.
On the very sad side, we got word that my friend Seth's brother Stefan died last night after a long battle with cancer. He was a great kid.. He wctually go married only 4 weeks ago. Seth and i have beenfriends since he wa only about 13. Seth and Stefans mom and dad have been friends if mine even before that, my heart is with them all today, i wish them all peace
