Tuesday night – Solstice++

I think the solstice was officially about 11:30 OM last night.. but we chose to celebrate it today. We woke up in Endicott.. and took our time getting out. Our last stop was to go by the florist shop whereLinda worked to say ‘bye’.. they had a great santa sign there…. that reminded me of my recent Santa exploits

most of the rest of the day was driving back here.. .. got back just in time to do some mischief at generator.. then headed over to meet the boys at Chris’s for a solstice burn.

Chris had planned a bigger event.. but decided to delay that until early Jan.. tonight’s burn was of a single cadle.. there were about 20 folks there braving the marshy back yard

event thought it was almost 50 degrees.. it is the beginning of winter…

… and of lightening says…

bring on the sun !..

blessed be folks

Monday night – nostalgia

Had my last two meetings of the year.. hung up the phone and immediately relaxed 17% !  First order of business was to go meet max and gabe’s buss. game had been down in B’klyn visiting max..  the buss station was right down the street from Diane’s uncle Armond’s old house.. Armando died earlier this year.. and the family has just sold the house. We had to stop by for nostalgia..

the house in back was where Diane’s grandmother lived.. the place was full of very funny , very loving Italian speaking aunts and uncles . We needed to get one last picture on the steps.

the house in front is where almond lived for so many decades.. Diane actually lived upstairs here for the first 2 years of her life

hey.. it’s a real deal.. anyone for a low cost home ?

next stop was Roma’s pizza.. another family vacation.. we’d been starving ourselves all day for it.. Here’s game.. now even more bearded.. with the prize..

then home for a nice low key family christmas

Next tradition was dinner takee out from phils down the road.. .. i don’t think we’ve missed a year doing this in 32 years..

i’m not a cheeky eater.. but their salad is good !

thats it so far for the day…

we;re about to he’d out for a move.. (star wars of course).. more on that tomorrow

Saturday night – trapping

Diane and I spent a nice quiet day at home getting ready for the next couple of weeks. We spent a good part of the morning with Puckett’s family planning his memorial which will be on Sunday the 27th. Looks like we have too many folks for or howse to hold, so we’re switching the venue t the Richmond library.

We’re looking for pictures, videos or anything else folks would like to share at the gathering.. .. Also looking for music.. Either live.. or stuff you may have recorded with Puckett.. or stuff that he liked. Please post what you have here (https://www.facebook.com/events/1503250823313237/)

Not much else to report for the day.. one thing did come up .. Diane and I took the dogs for a fast hike round libbys lookout. We ran into He told us that the town of Bolton had authorized  trapping of beaver and fisher cat  on Preston Pond  There’s a meeting at Rob Mullen’s tomorrow to discuss the beaver’s point  of view on this .. If you’re interested in participating. Check out Rob’s contact info here  (http://www.paintnpaddlestudio.com) . I have strong opinions.. after all. the Beaver is my School’s mascott !
