Monday night – drumbeat

Jeeez.. we went form winter to summer with no stops in between. it was close to 70 today.. which is about as warm as I ever need it to be !.

there was this really bright thing in the sky all day .. it kinda scared me !

 

long hard day at work.. then a spontaneous part of max’s friends nd game at the house for dinner. The whole house smelled like meat

 

after dinner, final tests on the drum-bot that max is building. I’m helping with the code. He’s done a great job on this. The idea is to build a simple suitcase that someone can turn into a drumming robot in  a subway station. He’s building it for an acoridian playing friend of his. It works great now. all he needs to do is to attach the sib and then mouth the servo arms..

 

 

 

 

 

Sunday night – almost summer !

It was in the 30’s this morning.. but by afternoon it was nearly 60 degrees !.. We heard it was the warmest it’s been in a full 6 months !

Diane and I took the dogs out on the long trail and hiked up to Duck Brook shelter.. It was so beautiful up there.. just a little snow and ice.. but we were plenty warm in sweatshirts.

my one accomplishment for the day was to remove the interior storm windows.   that means making friends with a billion lady bugs (actually not true ladybugs)

 

 

ok.. a hot bath calls// gotta go dive in..

Saturday night – then nothing happened

Had a glorious day.. Much slower than expected. I was going to fly down to boston for the day for a cool event, but max is town with two big projects so i spent the day nerding around with him.. Im so happy to be able to collaborate with someone who thinks exactly like i do…

Aside from that. All i did was fall asleep two seperate times on the couch..

I Could not imagine a nicer day !

Friday night – my favorite band

Home tonight after a long week away.. talking to so many folks  . Lats event of the day was a talk at the IEEE Region 1 student conference at UVM.. great group of folks..  My talker is now tired.. i am not going to say anything until tomorrow.

Acer the UMVM event, Diane picked me out and took me for some art therapy.. we went and sa a friends very interesting art opening.. .. the place was packed with friends from Richmond.. kinda cool when you think we were all gathered about 20 miles from hime.

 

from there we went to Arts Riot for a truly wonderful show.. it was ‘Sessions Americana with Anis Mitchell sitting in. I’d never heard of Sessions Americana’.. but they are mt new favorite band.. at least for tonight. I’m a huge americana fan.. Americana.. whats that ? I describe it as country meets folk with occasional profanity.. ..  it’s what I grew up on ..

 

tonights sow was amazing.. many originals.. many covers including graham parsons..whom I’v even thinkign of all week// also a great version of Ian Andersons’ ‘skating away’

I was sitting there getting in to the music.. and realized that any live music is my favorite music at the moment.. sort of like heer goggles for my ears.. i can’t remember ever enjoying music so much.. which I’m sure I have.. isn’t that wonderful ?

 

now home.. helping max tune theEEL .. it’s going out with Mike on a two week tour. .. gotta dial it in again
