Today the world celibrated IotDay . Many of us spent the day speaking, tweeting , blogging and hacking IoT stuff. The idea was to raise awareness of the Internet of Things (as if that was needed). IBM had some big announcements around the topic.. which was very cool.
I spent a good part of the day at the IBM Palisades site attending a Technical Leadership Exchange. I did the keynote there which was very fun. I saw so many old friends.. and met some very cool new people .

Max gave me a tie with a squid on it.. next time, i’m going to try that !
I got word this week that i had 3 seconds of fame coming in an IBM commercial that is airing on the Masters this week. If you don’t blink, you can see my former self from about second 31 to 33..
I remember exactly what I was thinking at this point .. I was saying to myself ‘Again ?’.. this being after 32 takes (if memory serves) of the full 30 second commercial which was filmed in Grand central station. You can see a little of the ‘making of’ here
Nice quiet night on my own in the IBM Learning center.. I ordered a sandwich that was designed by our Watson cognitive computer. it had lobster, olives, lemon and red peppers. It was truly delicious.. When computers can design food like that, it makes me look forward to the future
In the words of Ken Jennings: I for one welcome our new computer overlords.
