Funny thing. I was supposed to be enroute  to Taipei today, but it got rescheduled for work reasons. The fact that ‘all’ i have is a ‘normal’ insanely busy week feels like something of a vacation.

\really not much to report.. I’m trying to dig out from the email backlog caused by last weeks conference ..

one cool thing I found was a nice recording of my talk on Play  from last Wed. ..  I watched it again/ I always have trouble watching myself.. but thiss is fun for me to watch..

Just about perfect day.. woke late after 8 hours sleep, sun was shining and dogs tails were wagging. Spent the morning doing some recreational hardwre/softwre and got my ultra  neat Partica Electron cellular micro controller talking to the cloud. (Woot !).. Mid afternoon took the dogs on a slippery run up Libbys look out (surprising amount of snow still on the trail).. then met my good friends Nick and Matt for dinner. They are two great guys with mad making skills. I was really glad to be able to introduce them.. I can see them getting up to some cool making mischief.

In the course of that dinner I learned that my  Nick had a secret past. Turns out that when he was in 8th grade in 1988 (the year Max was born !).. he was on the kids game show “Where in the world is Carmen Santiago?”… Look I even have proof.. He came i first place and got the cool jacket in the pic below.. which.. he still has.. and still fits in.. . !

I am honored to know him !

happily home i.. sitting here in a quiet house with the doggies Diane is out helping Deb… enjoying the quiet .. haven’t had much of that… actually any of that.. all week

I did want to talk about last night. Shmul, Dov and I met up around 7:15 at the Brooklyn Bowl to see Phil Lesh and Friends.. It was so , great hanging out with good friends, good music.. ,my smile muscles still hurt  .. it was that much fun !

The venue is really nice.. it’s a hybrid of restaurant, bowling alley and concert venue.. it was packed !

then someone came up and hugged me from behind. I turned around and it was my friends Richie and Marriane from Waitsfield.. They were with a group heading to tahoe from vermont.. stopped in Lasvegas just to see the show.. it was a wonderful small world experience.. the more folks I know.. the more magically small my work becomes.

 

 

then the music started and we danced for about.. 4 hours.. my legs feel it today 🙂  the show was GREAT..

as always, phil ended with his ‘donor rap’.. where he talks about receiving a liver transplant . He talks about the donor, Cody.. and how Cody and his family tough choice saved his life. Like always.. i was crying my eyes out then..    Even got to talk to some of the folks in the crownd around me about organ donation.   Thinking of you so hard Sam..

we all went out and ate… I think i finally got back to y room about 3:30. and had to wake at 5L30 to catch my pan..

ps. took a bath when i got home and realized that i’d missed unblocking two spots on the front of my legs  I’ve got sunburn on the fronts of both legs.. Not comfortable.. but all my friends and family in VT are going to be jealous that i actually saw that much sun !

Super peaceful day spent with friends out here.. had breakfast with my good freind Yun Jung who was here from Korea.. caught up on life and work

Then Markus , Shmul , Dov and I hopped in Marku’s rental and drove back out to red rocks for a hike and talk. lots of great stories, some good work conversations, some discreet beers and blue, blue sky !

this couple came by.. he’s an 82 year old active rock climber, sh’s 72 and just getting started on ropes. 

 

then back to the hotel for a good long work talk..   and then about 3 hours of digging through about 500 emails that have piled up since sunday.. when my inbox was empty

now off to meet shamble and do for a phil less show.. I’m psyched..
