Tueday night – Daily’s

One nice thing being here this long is you get to know the people in the stores around here. There’s a small café called”dailies” downstairs where we’ve eaten every day. Got to know the nice people who work there. Today they wanted to see some of my led  bling. It was great getting to talk to them. Part of what makes this feel a little like home

Thanks guys !

Sunday night – Ein Hut, ein Stock, ein himmelblauer Unterrock!

Just back from a really nice weekend in Uberlingen with Niklaus, Brigitta and Kristina.. it was so great hanging out with them and my freinds Mark, Norma, and Denana.. it was s good mix of doign stuff and hanging out.

One of my favoirite things was gettign German lessons from 11 year old kristina.. Today she taught em a walkign song..   you call of ten paces

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,20

then you say..

Ein Hut, ein Stock, ein himmelblauer Unterrock!

WHich means a hat a stick, a sky blue pettycoat…

then forward , backward, sideways stand..

don’t ask me why  🙂

we spent the mornign explorign the town.. it was cold and wet…. there was a marathon being run in the town.. so soem of the streets were blocked..and you could hear the crowd cheering.. good day for a long run, i think

the town is abeutifully preserved.. with lots of cool old bbuildings and narrow  windy streets.

the catherdral there is beutiful !

here’s Niklas, Brigitta and Kristina

this door was renovated in 1959.. the year I was born !

there’s the lake down below

we spent a nice hour in the city museam.. it had cool stuff liek clock movements

cannon balls

beetles

\\bats

there was a ton on the faschings tradition here.. a bit hard to explain.. but the good/bad guy is henzelle.. who dresses like this   and carries a whip

and the lion who looks like this

there were displays of the carnival traditions of nearby towns as well.. all very bizzaree.. and very differnt from one another

the veiw from teh garden of the museum was amazxing

then back for lunch.. and the trip back to munich

one quick stop to check on the samstoen I’d placesd..

kristina and niklaus put it in a better place !

great weekend.. now time to sleep !
