We left here about 9:30 this morning and drove north to the lupine trail. ..through a wonderful coincidence our friend avery from home was visiting the jackson area. Shes been working at a national park in Idaho this summer.
I’m ur goal was Davis lake.. It was off the trail that lead to surprise and ampitheatre lakes. Davis was not easy to reCh 4 miles up and the last mile was a very steep scramble up mixed size glacial boulders.
It was definetiley worth the hike. The lake was .. Filled with glacial silt that gave it an aquamarine shimmer. It was freezing cold,.. And unlike most places in the area.. Not that busy.. Maybe four other groups of hikers.
We saw a few animals on the way up including this deer
The water was freezing !!!!!
We had a front row view of the teton glacier
Gabe found a perfect place for a samstone
And one more on the way down
On the way down wOne noti on the way down we observed that we had
‘The bear spray in the backpack of raya berenback on a switchback’
Great hike.. I can still feel it in my legs ! Hopefully another hike tomorrow.
Right now lots of cousins running aroun in this beautiful house. Nice chaos
