Friday night – Happy birthday Diane

Happy birthday to my love Diane.. !  You are my mate… the love of my life, my best friend ,partner, counselor, coach, co-inventor,  traveling companion . Loving, beautiful and fun to be with. Everything a guy could want in a mate..

We both took the day off to hang out together.. started with a longish run with the girls.. out the river shore, up affords, and then the lower gorge.. I took a plunge in the Huntington  while this cool guy sat there and drummed

Midday it rained.. so we chose an inside activity.. we caught  the superman/batman movie at Essex.. No spoilers here.. the movie was goodish..   Afterwards.. I took diane to get a massage and managed to get some work and callsign..

Then  dinner at Sushi do…..   Magical thing happened there.. diagnose cup kept moving around on the table with no one touching it.. .. it kept happening.. very funny and cool.. no explanation ! (Sam.. was that you ?!)

Then a sunset walk with the dogs to the river.. the sunset was bouncing off the hills.. really pretty views of our house.

Finally   home for cake and a few presents.. Max dialed in for it..

Great day.. great mate..

Happy Birthday… I love you Diane !

Thursday night – remembering Dylan

Woke today and realized via Facebook that this would have been our friend Dylan’s 23rd birthday. Dylan was a very close friend of ours.. he was  a snowboarding buddy of Sam’s.. then a close friend and mentor to Gabe after Sam died.   Dylan died 5 years ago.. He was an organ donor.. He helped save four peoples lives.

Dylan was an artist, athlete and very good friend. .. He was always up to a challenge whether it was a step terrain park or a crazy stunt . .  I remember watching him snort  a bunch of wasabi up his nose on a dare (from me) .. We all still think about that boy all the time. ..

You will never be forgotten man.. Happy birthday

Wednesday night – Tracks

Managed to find 30 min today to go for a run.. Ran down Duxbury road, across the bridge we camped on and then ran back on the railroad tracks back to the house.. only about 3 miles.. but it brought back a huge amount of memories.. As I ran along the tracks, I had to pay close attention to avoid tripping on the railroad ties.. It was very medititative. As I ran,i kept finding railroad spikes and other odd iron bits. It really took m e back to the days that I’d walk the three boys ALONG THE TRACKS AND WE’D PICK UP EVERY STRAY BIT OF METAL WE COULD FIND. SOMETIMES WE WERE ON THE WAY TO GET ICE CREAM AT THE JONESVILLE STORE, SOMETIMES WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO THE ROPE SWING OVER THE WINOOSKI (caps were accidental. but nice) ..

sometimes we were just out for mischief.. .. like putting coins on the tracks to wait until they were flattened by a train..

running there was such a nice trip back …   that I picked up some metal scraps just to hold on to the moment

Tuesday night – collage

Woke to snow..a reminder that its only barely spring

omg intense day at work.. doing my best to adjust to my new role.

Did manage 30 min free to get the dogs out or a run in the snow.. nice to be outside.

I was surprised when it was already 6PM and time for yoga.. After yoga we all came in for soup as is our custom.. Tonight Beth was here and lead a really fun collage exercise she calls ‘soul collage’ .. it’s basically like going back to elementary school and cutting out pictures and pasting them on cardboard.. but more thought involved. Its something she does as a spiritual/learning exercise for groups.. everyone sits around and talks  and cuts out images from the huge piles of magazines and books that Beth collects. You then arrange the pictures to  make  collages  that tell some sort of story..

here’s one I made of the Dali Lama contemplating his daily llamas

then everyone describes what they were thinking as they composed their collages

good fun !  hope we do it again !
