I had the great privilege and fun of hosting my friends Cheiko-sanand Hiro-san in our Munich Lab today.
Chieko-san has been blind since she was a teen ager and leads IBM’s daptive technology research efforts. Take a look at her TED Talk to get an idea of the amazing thigns she does.
Hiro-san works with CHiko-san and often travels with her both as a research partern and guide. He’s also an old freind of mine..
We had about 70 folks show up for the talk. thats standing room only..

I printed up a small model of our building to give her. It was fun showing her where we’d been in the building using the physical model

we got dinner together at a nearby german place.. long wait.. but great food

OK.. gotta catch a flight tomorrow.. so gotta sleep.
Long busy day… But was looking forward to 9 PM. That’s the time (Munich time) that burning Man tickets went on sale this year. I was there at the second the sale started which was noon Pacific time… 9 PM Munich time. I ended up waiting on a computer Queue with the hopes of scoring to burning Man tickets and one parking ticket… After all that time I learned that all the tickets it already been sold…
No worries though… I’ve never made the lottery before… And I’ve always been able to score tickets.
I had to go drown my sorrow’s… I was able to meet up with my friend Roland and a bunch of his visiting college which was a whole Lotta fun
The only problem was… I hadn’t eaten all day… I was so happy to remember that I had leftover Thai food in my fridge in my room… Thai food with Pringles… Doesn’t get better than that
super busy day here.. so much to do….i need to clone myself to get everything I have to do done and still be able to sleep.
i did take a break and had a really nice Thai dinner with my friend Oliver..
then back to the hotel for a few more hours of work.
I did get to facetime with diane.. for some reason we’ve never used facetime that much before.. but now we try to every day.. Its so nice ot be abel to see each other when we talk..
Greetings from beautiful Munich where it’s full on spring… I got here this morning took a quick nap and then walked over to the I like tower. As I did I saw buds on the trees for city in bloom crocuses it was like Vermont in about a month. The air was about 50° it couldn’t of been
OK I have an early morning run… So I’m going to sleep… More tomorrow
