It turns out that tonight is Pesach.. (Passover). / my friend Erik was here so we invented a seder pl;ate

not bad on the spur of the moment.. Home made charoset, fake matzah ,.an egg, parsley, a duck bone. and horseradish !

In Dulles on my way back to Munich.. I had a week at home.. it was a busy wee.. but even so it felt like a vacation. I spent Monday through Friday alone in the house with the dogs.. Diane was down in Endicott  with her mom who’d needed a little daughterly help.. I spent the days woring hard, sittign with the dogs and running outside when weather allowed it. I had seeral ventures out.. a meeting,  a school visit, a tal for a local business group. Each felt liek a gift because it involved people from ‘here’ . I lived a . pretty simple life.. and very peaceful. DIane came back on friday and we had a wonderful weekend together. we hiked, ran, goofed around. I took the storm windows down which makes it now officially spring .   The  weather and sounds are much closer now with the windows down.

this short vacation really has me thinking.. i need more of these. ..

Woken late by the two headed beast cerberus

 

we’d decided to take the whole day to do as little as possible. .and we succeeded. after two naps, we were able to get outside ..

We had about 3 inches of snow over night 6 inches in the hills behind the house.  . and it’s going to be 70 degrees  by Monday !

 

it was fresh tracks on Honey Hollow !.   it’s about a 6 mile beautiful loop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

then back to the house for another nap.. I have much stored up sleepiness !

i’m sleepy again.. .. it’s so good to be lazy !

I stopped by gabe’s this afternoon to take him out to dinner and bring him home to study this weekend,. He lives in this very funky old house on South Willard that s owned by Burlington’s most notorious bad landlord. gabe knew this when he moved in last year.. and it’s been pretty much what he expected. Lots of things going wrong in the old house.. but even still it’s got  nice vibe. The landlord has more than 88 criminal counts against him for not folowing court ordered upgrades to this several proeerties. interestingly.. gabe says he’s not a bad guy.. just has an interestign view on how to do maintainance.

The story  made news today when it landed on the front  page of the Burlington  Free Press today.
