logn day… woke in stuttgart.. had a great time at ehningan with friends kelly and florian.. took train back to munch.. which was 80 minutes late (very un-german !).

had good  (very interesting) client meeting and interesting dinner.. now lying in bed sweating

woke early and said good bye to Alexy and Elena and family.. Really wonderful staying with  them and gettign to know their family.. 

 

 

 

got a train back to Munich.. and walked through pouring rain to meet Kelly and Florian and FLorain’s very great girlfriend  Katja 

 

we zipped up the motorway at about 110 MPH  and got to Stuttgart in plenty of time for me to get a quick ride from FLorian to see my frfends in Boeblingen.. 

 

I went to Jochen’s magic house and met his magic wife ! Here they are with wires exposed.. Jochen is wiring the garage door so it automatically opens when they ride in with  their  cool eelctric biles.

i didn’t get a picture, but our friend Patrizia  stopped by too !

at 5:30 I caught the Sbahn back to stutgart then the ubahn  out to florians. i was fascinated with the the upholsery i the Ubahn

 

as I traveled back to florians, florian and kelly were at the top of the giant tv antenna overlooking the city.. they sent me this picture. 

 

i found a beutiful woods trail between the Ubahn stop and florians house.. .. thhe whole contry is criss crossed by these well mainteained paths.. 

 

i got to FLorian and Katja’s just as FLorian and Kelly frove up We got a tour of their golf stuff.. i didnlt even know there was all this golf stuff

their house and gardens are SO beutiful.. the view is great too . it was really amazing

Super nice day here n Starnberg with Alexy , Elena and their four kids. I slept unitl 10.. .. Then Alexy and Elena and I went for a 10K run.. then breakfast.. then soem really nice hanin around the house.. we all took naps

 

 

Alexy’s pareents called i from russia.. they seemed really nice !

 

about 4 we took a nice hike up to see the lake..

 

then it was back for Suana.. 3 sessions of 65 degree (C) steamy heat  spread over 2 hours.. and punctuated by ice cold showers.. The thought of being in humid heat on purpose after this week seemed crazy.. but it was really fun and invigorating !

 

 

Afterwards we played soem soccor and Eleena and Sergey cooke

 

dinner had GAZPACHO !!!!.. one of my favorite foods in the world !

 

after dinner we headed back to the local Gasthouse, . They were having a very cool soltice festival. with music, dancing and a huge bonfire !

 

 

arond 10 we came back to the house.. and watched a little of the Colony.. beleive it or not.. I never watched it after the first time. It was pretty cool seeing the part where diane shows u !

greetings from the deliciously cool basement the belongs to my friend Alexey and eLena. I’m out at their house near the starmburg sea south of Munich. Im staying in germany over the weekend because of some talks i need to give monday.

its really nice hanging out with alexey and elena.. they have four beautiful kids and live in this big house with a zillion rooms, stairs, closets , nooks, crannies.

last nught their daughter natasha was having her 11th birthday so there were 5-6 girls from the international school.. it was pretty cool when they sung happy birthday.. you got at least five languages!

 

Alexy and elena and the kids have lived all over the worl.. th two of them are from a small town in russia…alexy went to MIPT..thenthry moved to boston where alexy did his phd in experimental phyoscs at harvard… he did most of his experimental work at cornell.. which is where elena got her degree.. they then lived in Connecticut, westechester, shanghai, Spain, germany., and each time they pick up the language..

elena taught me a cool expression in chineses..”mamahoohoo” it literly means “horse,horse,dragon,dragon” which is a way of saying things aren’t great..but they aren’t too bad either.

good word for use so,eday… but for now im great
