Saturday night – POK

Flew in to Albany last night. The reason I did that is that I’d volunteered to do a science show for several hundred middle and high school kids  down there today.. originally we’d planned a vacation around that, but it was not to be. I had an important meeting to cover in Munich on Thusday/Friday .. so  I’d driven my  gear down to Albany on  Wednesday and left from there to go to Munich… then flew back to Albany last nigth and drove the rest of the way down to Poughkeepsie early this mornign,. I got there about 1:30 AM.. got some sleep .. then 8:30 this mornign got to the IBM plant there and set up. It was a great day.. the kids were so excited to be there !

then a greast lucnh with good freinds bruce and jim !

then a long drive home .. with lots of music

speaking of music.. Off to see elephant revival. more tomorrow

Max is here.. !  wonderful to see him..

friday night – binge watching

ABout 10 hours into my commute.. 2 hours more to go..

Spent the day on the plane trying to get through my email.. still have several hundred emails to go.. but Ive made a dent

I did something different on the flight today.. I actually watched TV !.. I binge watched a show called Westworld.. its a remake of the old yule Brenner show.. I’m sure you know the story

I was fascinated with it.. lots of violence.. but still pretty cool….

somehow I managed to  watch 5 hours of that..without noticing. . this is why i don’t watch TV when by myself. !

THen I wateched ‘Lost in Translation’.. one of my favorite moviees.. and onne of the best/worst trasvel moivies ever made..

Nothing i’ve seen captures that sense of work travel displacement as well as that movie

I’ve seen it (no joke) 17 times.. Today i did 18, then watched again in German to make 19..

That makes it about  ‘Suntory time’

Wednesday night – almost

siitting in my seat on a beutiful big airplane heading to munich for wht i think is my 33rd trip there. Ive always been partial to the number 33 .. its odd… (what isnt ?) but its (almost) 1/3 of one hundred .. its (almost) the same number of revolutions per minutes of old vinyl records.. and its (almost.. maybe  exactly)  the number onthe rolling rock beer bottle

so (parenthetically speaking) 33 should be an interesting trip..(we’ll see)..
