I had a very good day at work today. Our team hosted our Chairman Ginni R here at the Munich Center.. I had the honor of showing her around our beautiful center. . It was fun and inspirign to get to spend time with her.
As always, I make it a habit not to talk about work meetings here in this blog…
..even so, I cant resist sharing a few pictures from the town hall hosted by GInni and my (amazing) boss H. .. The Chairman did a really great job connecting with all the folks at the center. Her comments and answers to questions were right on.. .. , inspiring and fun… I loved every minute of it.
One of the hilight s was gettign to be there with my team.. The Department of Wow. Our very own Dawn A .. got to give a talk about being a ‘wild duck’.. .. she told a great story about triumphing over technical adversity… .. and pur team was there to cheer her on.
As the team and I walked out to grab dinner… I found this balloon lying on the ground..
A good close to the day..
It was a really good day to be part of this company…
I learned a great phrase in German today .. “Mut zur Lücke” .. literally it means ‘courage to/for the gap”I’ve been reading definitions of it in german.. and some of the good ones I found is the bravery to move ahead when you are not certain.. or the courage to move”.. or the courage to jump the gap..

Spent the morning with mom and my family saying good bye to 88 Prospect Street.. It’s been a really great place for my folks. THey moved up here in 2000 (i think).. t be closer to all of us. At the time, we were in Vermont, My brother was at Brighams and Women’s and lived in Chestnut Hill anbd my sister lived in the North end .. Soon after , billy moved back to Houston with his family, Mary married Bills work partner John and moved to Minneapolis.. and my folks were on their own again in Sherborn. It worked out well though. The house and town were very much like the house in Houston where we grew up.. open. airy and surrounded by woods. They quickly made friends and became part of Sherborn. My dad has a good 12 year there before his Alzheimers really kicked in. He had 3 year of softly fading away in that house where he stayed until 6 weeks before he passed in 2014. .. He loved the area and the neighborhood. I liked visiting there because of all the great running trails in the woods… My mom built a nice spot for Sam out there.. where there are lots of samstoens and heart shaped rocks. we visited in my last trip here a week ago.
Over the last couple of weeks its been really clear how much folks loved my mom and dad.. there ahve been lots of neighbors dropping by and even a party for my mom..
it felt good and a little weird walking through the house for the last time today.. It was completely empty
it was really nice having max and gabe here too !
Thank you house for taking such good care of my parents.
