I stopped by gabe’s this afternoon to take him out to dinner and bring him home to study this weekend,. He lives in this very funky old house on South Willard that s owned by Burlington’s most notorious bad landlord. gabe knew this when he moved in last year.. and it’s been pretty much what he expected. Lots of things going wrong in the old house.. but even still it’s got nice vibe. The landlord has more than 88 criminal counts against him for not folowing court ordered upgrades to this several proeerties. interestingly.. gabe says he’s not a bad guy.. just has an interestign view on how to do maintainance.
The story made news today when it landed on the front page of the Burlington Free Press today.

had another day to myself today.. lots of work.. made tiem this evening to go out tdinenr with my cousin-in-law Billy g. we had a reaally good time tallking about family, our kids.. fun times, sad times and science…. I think we covered curies (three of them) tesla, bequrel, faraday, Millikan, cavendish. Einstein bohr, Plank, Pade, Galileo, Kelvin, Newton
Long tough day at work. Had a great break in the middle when I went to MMU High school to give a talk to the CLASH team. They are a self organizing group of juniors and seniors who get together over lunch to talk about ethics, happiness, science or whatever else they can find. They were such cool =, impressive people. I talked about he power of play and reinvention.. which was a great reminder to me today.. as work is keeping me less playful than usual . They asked me good question which helped me really think about what I was trying to say
I also got a chance to see our friend Bucky and a few of his kids from Lacrosse. They had made a card remembering Sam.. which meant so much to me.
