Sunday night – Stirring ..

todays theme was ‘stirring’ .. as in you can feel spring stirring somewhere out there.. we still have a good 6 weeks of winter.. but today it was above freezing in the middle of the day. Our neighbor Bob told Diane that there’s already a bit of sap flowing in the maples in midday.. and the air smelled like spring.

I went over to Chris and Kims to work on our Burning Man art car project.. took some time to admire some of Chris’s beautiful steam punk builds.

Gabe helped make the tail on this one.

I had my 9th day of birthday.. with the cake we didn’t ‘t have space to eat yesterday.. my .. 3rd cake for this birthday.. or was it my 4th ?  Gabe and Justin were  here doing a Bioinformatics lab.. and helped us eat the cake .

from 3-5 Diane and Marcy did an aroma  yoga class here at the house.. the theme was ‘cabin fever’.. and the ord ‘stirring’ came to ne there.. we talked about the 3rd chakra .. the solar plexus.. .. we were there to ‘stir the pot’ ..a nd shake of winter blues.. i’m not actually feeling any particular winter blues.. but stirred anyway.

from there  Diane, Kathy . and I went to a ‘Gong Bath’ at Balance Yoga’ down the road.. Lynn lead the class.. it is just so amazing. she has singing bowls, chimes, rian sticks.. and these two magnificent gongs..

its so cool just lying there and listening.

ok. hope your juices are stirring. it’s almost spring

Saturday night – birthday8

In keeping with the family tradition, i’m stretching my birthday out to be as long as possible .. i’m currently on day 8 , 3 birthday cakes, 4 parties..and still going strong. Diane, the dogs and I took advantage of the nice snow to hike 6 miles up and back in honey hollow. At the top I further upheld tradition by making a snow angle whearing just my birthday suit.. it was cold.. but worth it !

the star of this birthday hike were our new chain crampons. I think I could walk up a tree in therse. very helpful when you have snow over ice like we have today.

at 6:30 we met gabe for a birthday sushi dinner !

here’s the sushi-full famile

we actually had a birthday cake with us.. but we were all too full to eat it. thats been put off until tomrrow.. which is birthday 9 ! at least one more day of birthday !.. wooooot !
